For me, the big test is January.
Right now I am giving Sam the benefit of the doubt and adhering to the theory that all his career he has had to cut his suit according to his relegation fodder cloth.
This has been reflected in the type of player he has signed.......JayJay, Djorkaeff and Campo notwithstanding.
He needs to show us he us capable of buying and deploying footballers from the higher branches on the tree, rather than bottom feeding among the bushes.
If the likes of Troy Deeney or Shawcross were the type of players he was bringing in I would be less than enthused
The stats for this season suggest you are wrong. He has proved that he can score in the Prem, despite playing in two different god awful teams. With a better team around him he could do even better.
People are desperate for things to be good again after being lumbered with that miserable get Koeman.
I understand the relief, but BS is the same manager he was before he arrived here: a bluffer and a chancer who'll get us some big wins but ultimately isn't talented enough to do a top job.
I'm happy that Koeman is no longer here, yes. It was a panic to get Allardyce in though. There was no need for it.Dave but better than RK, do you agree?
You'll be singing 'Big Fat Sams Blue and white army' at 3 am waking the neighbours as you roll in with a kebab after a gallon and a half ffs.
If Fat Sam manages somehow to win on Sunday, wouldn't that be conclusive proof that you CAN polish a turd and that Sam is quite good at polishing?
I tell you what, if he can somehow conjure up two wins at Anfield in the space of a month he deserves to have his own mural on the side of the main stand plus the finest wines available
Lucky he won’t tho lol

But he wont be here long. I'd guess unless we have a fairly impressive run that takes us to something like 8th and comfortably in the top 10 then he'll be out this summer. And maybe gone by then even if he does get top 8. This isn't designed to be permanent.
lol,
It's kind of eery isn't it?
People are naive if they think Allardyce is going to change his tactics that he has shown throughout his managerial career. Likewise guardiola and mourinho, both have there styles of management. Guardiola’s teams have always been fluid attacking teams with the emphasis on attack and possession. Mourinho’s teams are more pragmatic, built on a solid defence, with a strong physical presence through the spine of the team. These are arguably two of the most successful managers in recent history, they don’t change their style of play, so why do we think allardyce will be anything different? We will adopt a similar style to mourinho, build from the back, look to have a physical presence in the side and not play too expansive a style of football, that leads us open at the back. Allardyce in my mind was brought here to stabilise the club, not rebuild it. That will come with the next manager appointed. My guess it will be silva next summer. You cant teach an old dog new tricks.
