How do people know how the Allyrdyce deal is structured ?
I keep reading on here that he will be paid full salary for the remaining twelve months of his contract, where does this come from ?
Could it not have been agreed when he arrived that at the end of the season both parties would review the situation and if it was decided that he would leave that he would be paid an agreed lesser amount. ?
Sam was one of the first managers they spoke to and went away from... Sam confirmed that himself at the time because Everton were only interested in a deal that went to the end of the season.
Sam was never seen as a long term choice and I can't help but feel that the eighteen months period was mentioned to give the appearance of longevity and solidity to the appointment... for the benefit of the players.

I think Sam may also have had a desire to see if there was a possibility that the chance to manage a big club had not come too late in his career.

It clearly has, and nobody will know this better than Sam, in spite of all his bravado he will know that his tenure at Everton has only been a very modest success. He has kept us in the premiership and that is what he was asked to do. However, some performances have been shocking, some selections and substitutions baffling and he has completely failed to get dubious supporters to his side.

As I NOW see it. At the end of the season Sam will deem his tenure a success but will decide not to continue so he decides to leave rather than being removed and I think all the various steps leading to this will be choreographed.

I would not be completely surprised if that was not announced before the last home game of the season.

Well no because where we go and who we play is surely influenced by who is in charge.

I think a new manager in his first season would be fine having the trips arranged already by the club so long as there wasn't any ridiculous trips to Hong Kong etc.

A trip to a decent facility in Austria as standard and then a raft of games in England would be ideal for a new man coming in getting to know the club.

Once his feet are under the desk he can go where he likes from next summer.

Comments like today's Sky article should be welcomed if you take a step back. The more he speaks to protecting his own reputation the more likely it is he's on the way out.

If he were secure in the job for next season would he be talking up these performances? When he thought he was in with a shout of staying on he was blasting the players in the press regularly.

He's going. He's not going this week or next as we're waiting for the new men to finish up where they are but he is going.

He's putting his gloves up so when he's asked about his Everton stint next year on Talksport he can blag it was a success.

In one sense Sam has been a success. He's done what was asked of him and secured our status in the prem, I don't think there was much more required. I don't want him at the club beyond this season and it seems the owners feel the same way, he talks out of his hat but he's not the only one and it's time we showed a bit of class and left him to end his time with us with some degree of dignity and appreciate the fact he saved our bacon.

We were 5 points above the bottom three when he took over. He's saved nothing. To suggest otherwise is just factually incorrect.

Dignity? You mean the man who routinely embarrasses Davy Klaassen in the media whenever he is asked about him? Don't make me laugh.

Why does no one ever seem to challenge the absolute rubbish Fat Sam and his allies come out with?

No, Sutton, we were not in the bottom three at all. We were 13th when Pie Head rocked up. Yes, Sutton, he has spent money, more than the majority of the league with a £50m outlay in January.

Talking through his arse, as per.

I’d love dmash that smug bellend rar in the kite.

Weapon of the highest order.

Makes me laugh that Sutton's whole argument is that Allardyce "saved" us, then when Hartson and Saunders said we wouldn't have gone down anyway he says that we wouldn't have either. He then says we have short memories. The nobed can't even remember what he said one minute ago!

How many points above the bottom 3 now? We were leaking goals and in free fall and many of us genuinely feared we would be scrapping for the rest of the season. To suggest we weren't in peril is just a denial to feed your own prejudice, by all means dislike Sam and his cronies but don't try to pretend he hasn't done the job he was brought in for. He will be gone and that's what we all want, but a bit of balance wouldn't go amiss and just because he behaves like a classless cock at times doesn't mean that we should stoop to his level.
