I recorded the match last night.....no, I was not going to watch it and put myself through that ordeal again

But I fast forwarded and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Roberto talking afterwards.

He is such a cultured, urbane fellow.

His comments were spot on.

So sad that the plotters in the dressing room derailed the project and landed us in the sorry mess we find ourselves in today
The candles in the wind are still shining bright mate.

I don't see him leaving.
  • Jim White's comments this morning (and his relationship with the chairman) indicates that the board want to stick with Allardyce.
  • The club's own magazine talked up Allardyce as being a prominent person behind the rebuilding of the squad going forward.
  • Allardyce spoke about recruitment in the summer being imperative, wouldn't of done so without prior board agreement.
That debate was a joke, with Big Daddy Bunce - stick to talking about boxing mate ffs, and that perma tanned beaut Gray, both patronising Everton beyond belief. Gray reckoned that we were only unhappy with Sams style of play due to the RS having a decent season.....

White was more or less saying Blues should give their heads a wobble and give Sam a chance, as we’re 8th now and not 13th.....meh.

He shouldn't be retained beyond this season and certainly not have a contract extension under any circumstance.

It's amazing how much winning a game will change people's minds. He's already shown whilst he's been here what we'd be in for.

Hammerings at Arsenal and the like who we "can't compete with" would continue with him shifting the blame every time. The games we would win would make your eyes bleed like last night whilst he struts like a rooster after them. There'd be more nonsense from him with each press appearance talking the club down so that what he "achieves" seems better than it is. There'd be more self congratulation whilst he's alienating young players and bringing in overrated crocks like Wilshere on massive contracts.

That man has done his job which was make sure a poor season didn't turn into a disastrous one. Thank you and goodbye.

If he's here for 1 minute after the end of the season it's just proving right all those trumpets in media who seem to think 8th place and beating anyone other than the top 6 is all Everton should be expecting and we should be happy for it.

We know who we are and where we want to go. A few months of this footballing jester being at the club shouldn't convince anybody that we've suddenly become Newcastle or West Ham like he thinks we are.

With arguably the best squad in the tournament?

You’ve set the bar for hailing him as a massive ‘success’ low there David.....
Who's argued that? Certainly not me.

Best 8 defo. If they dont get that far he's ballsed that up...especially given the group they have is full of tosh like Tunisia, Paraguay and England.

Had to turn it off mate. I was koffng away and getting funny looks off other drivers.
That pair of helmets, Gray and Mills joining in as well. Everyone thinks we're so small time, and we do nothing to disprove it.
Did you hear the manc caller say we are a small club and Allardyce is doing a great job...and them nobeds in the studio laughing and saying what level do Everton want to go to next and what manager do they expect?....Then some nobed Evertonian caller says Id like Eddie kin Howe...

Yeah Moshiri doesn't speak to White anymore as he claimed the messages he sent him were supposed to be private.
This makes me feel better about talksport this morning. But doesn't help with my reservations about Mosh. The private txt messages that White had been exposing for months before he stopped sending them because they were meant to be private.:) At least he's stopped which is a positive I suppose.

Sam has done ok. The abuse he gets is largely unwarranted, and had he only signed a 6 month deal, I think he’d get a lot more credit.

He’s come in to do a job, and has done it.
The style of football, and his self serving, antagonising comments would rule out a longer term at the club as far as i’m concerned.

I think the criticism of him is way over the top though.
