Quarter finals is an achievement for a group of degenerates like England. Very sad if Belgium harbour the same ambitions, considering Wilmots got them there. If they can't aspire to win it now they never ever will.
Aspire and expect are worlds apart.

Did you hear the manc caller say we are a small club and Allardyce is doing a great job...and them nobeds in the studio laughing and saying what level do Everton want to go to next and what manager do they expect?....Then some nobed Evertonian caller says Id like Eddie kin Howe...
I never got that far mate. Got as far as "staunch Evertonian" Jay. And the chorus of "oh thank god for Jay, some sense at last" blah blah etc etc.
We'll always be viewed as a small club with our PR.

This makes me feel better about talksport this morning. But doesn't help with my reservations about Mosh. The private txt messages that White had been exposing for months before he stopped sending them because they were meant to be private.:) At least he's stopped which is a positive I suppose.

I think he learned a harsh lesson for his stupidity. The moral of the story is don't send private texts to journalists and expect them to remain confidential.

Thing is are you happy with 8th pre season would you be happy with 8th and the turgid football churned out?
Over the park they would sack their manager - just stick to our club motto nothing but the best will do!

I'm not sure what this has to do with what I said? All I said was player value means nothing. It doesn't. Our best player cost 60k.

This motto thing has to stop too. It's just words. A nice little marketing slogan that was made up years ago. It's not a promise etched in stone or written in blood or anything.

The same way Blackburn don't do everything by "Skill and Hard Work". How "Prepared" are Aston Villa? What does that even mean come to think of it?

You bore me that much I've actually forgotten the origional question. But as your comic value has run it's course I've no interest in even looking back to see what it was....bye.
You realised you have just proved me right when I said that I didn't expect you to answer the question. I'll settle for that. Bye:)

One more thing. If I bore you that much don't bother to respond to any of my posts in future, because I guarantee I'll be on your case again if you do.

FGS it's our club motto- The moto -Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, which means "nothing but the best is good enough", I have been brought up on the school of science football if my late father seen that last night - he would turn in his grave!
that stuff was drilled into me as a young boy sorry it's our history!

Ha Ha Ha.

No.

@Armel set this lad right will you.

Quarter final exit against a very good team (Brazil) is acceptable. Anything above is a bonus.

Best team ever is a bit debatable. We've had some equally decent ones in the past. Like the ones of Mexico '86, that beat the USSR etc...

I can see him staying on another year, what is it going to cost sacking him ?

6m plus 3 or 4 more for his back room staff ?

We can't keep paying managers off, what if the next guy isn't any good ?

Arsenal are looking, Chelsea will be looking for a new manager as well, so we will be behind those two
in the queue.

Who's argued that? Certainly not me.

Best 8 defo. If they dont get that far he's ballsed that up...especially given the group they have is full of tosh like Tunisia, Paraguay and England.
Think Germany, brazil, Spain and France all have better squads. But Belgium has a first XI to match any of the above teams with 2 genuine world class players and 2 strikers capable as finishing as tournament top goal scorer, arguably the best defence and ne of the best 3 keepers in the world. I also think that Martinez, as a manager, is more suited to cup football.

Because their squad players are not of the same level, a lot depends on injuries and suspensions, but I've had a punt at 11-1 which I think is a decent bet.
