I rather think not.

Somehow I don’t think if we’d have had Allardyce for a full season we’d be breaking up the top 6 now. Arsenal haven’t won a point away from home this season, they are in disarray for them, Chelsea have dropped numerous points you’d never expect them to. Allardyce trades on a formula of beating the bottom 13 at home then looking to draw the other games, most seasons that will not land you in the top 6.

Errr....... I think I remember them winning three points somewhere! Do you mean this year?

Think this gives a fairer picture of the 'football'!

Don’t think that includes the West Ham win Joey.

Btw lads I want him gone just a bit surprised by those stats posted by Sky.

They're worrying as they do provide some factual justification that he has done a "good" job. I think that table speaks volumes about how garbage the league is more than it shows that Allardyce has done a good job.

I prefer to assess how well we're doing with my own eyes as opposed to what stats say however, and my eyes tell me we are just as bad now as we have been all season except now we have Tosun and Walcott in our team. I can remember a few comfortable home wins under Allardyce but no impressive performances. The standard of football is diabolical.

I consider Big Arse's best achievement here not getting slaughtered at Anfield when I expected we would. Apart from that though he's done nothing that Koeman wasn't capable of in my opinion.

Well, if there were money to spend and a free hand to get shut of the rubbish like Baines, Jagielka etc it could work. Not likely to happen though as RM has moved on. I reckon after the WC he'll be in demand in Spain.

He will hardly take a job as a waiter in Malaga Dave.
I’d say he wants to stay in football in some capacity

Jim White show use to be good, now it’s gone down hill, he’s hardly on it and he seems to have Bob on every single day.

The best connected man in football must be able to do better Bob and some no mark Sunderland player

I don't see him leaving.
  • Jim White's comments this morning (and his relationship with the chairman) indicates that the board want to stick with Allardyce.
  • The club's own magazine talked up Allardyce as being a prominent person behind the rebuilding of the squad going forward.
  • Allardyce spoke about recruitment in the summer being imperative, wouldn't of done so without prior board agreement.
Jim White is out of the loop

Magazine is hardly going to say Sam won’t be involved in rebuilding the squad while he’s still the manager

Allardyce is not going to say I won’t be here to oversee recruitment

I recorded the match last night.....no, I was not going to watch it and put myself through that ordeal again

But I fast forwarded and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Roberto talking afterwards.

He is such a cultured, urbane fellow.

His comments were spot on.

So sad that the plotters in the dressing room derailed the project and landed us in the sorry mess we find ourselves in today
Ffs...he detailed his own " project" after his first season by refusing to be able to coach a team in sound defensive methods and not having a plan B when plan A went down the swanee. Rewriting of history going on here
Also how do we know that Brands is definitely coming? It has not been confirmed by any source of which I am aware. Why do we need a DOF anyway? I believe davek is of the same view. Unfortunately as I have been saying for some time, Allardyce's tenure at the club is going to continue into next season as Moshiri chooses "stability" over success on the field .hope I am wrong...
