Maybe some similarities to the job Big Joe did but Royle did it with a lot more charm, humour and modesty. And with a much worse set of players.

I agree on the charm front, it does make a difference and is sensible, but the jobs as a football manager not a politician or hotel receptionist, I don’t really subscribe to the role model or media profile age to be honest! But fair point, his attitude is just irrelevant for me if I’m honest, but I can understand how could be for others! I wonder if Sam has played 300 games for us and did the same job would our opinion of him be different. If unsworth has done it, would it be the same response.

To be honest with you mate if I was picking the team between the 95-96 team vs the 17-18 team the majority would be big Joes team.

But he faces the same problem with Allardyce, he has no buffer of goodwill and if he keeps turning out teams who produce hardly any shots on goal tempers will quickly run short with him.
I can guarantee Allardyce will not have us starting down the barrel of the relegation zone, and without that any decisions can be put off. Koeman was sacked because he had to be.

What allardyce took over we would have gladly have taken 8th. The football and results really was that bad, back in the autumn. However under allardyce although results have improved (certainly against the bottom half of the league clubs) the performances have still been largely dire and poor. If we want to remain a mid table team, then we stick with allardyce. However if we have genuine aspirations to challenge for champions league places, we need a younger more tactical astute manager who is capable of playing attractive winning football, to bridge the sizeable gap that exists to the top 4 at present.

"said Allardyce, who has lifted the Toffees from 18th to eighth in the Premier League."

Snippet from sky ... soon they'll be saying he got us promoted mid-season.
Why is none of the media getting their facts straight, we were 13th, facts are we play absolute crap football, we are where we are because we have the 6th best squad in the league, he's underachieving because of his negative tactics, like getting a point from two games against West Brom for a start.

I actaully think alladyce could get us top 6 next season, not great football but we would be there abouts.
If the only other names we could get are dyche, or a punt on Silva or some random foreigner I'd stick with alladyce another year.

What im trying to say is if we can't get a good appoontment, stick with alladyce for now instead of taking a punt

Who would you get instead?
Are you saying Alladyce would be top of your list? My job isnt to line up a successor,we have a CEO,an owner,a biard of directors whose job it is to make decisions, again wiuld he be top of your list to manage Everton?

He has done what he was brought in to do that cannot be denied.
But now we should move on and pay him off and start getting geared up to catching the so called top 6.
I am lucky enough to have been / seen the glory years of the eighties even early 70's as a nipper. Now I want my son (21 yrs old) to see us win something , anything .He's been to Wembley for THAT semi against the R/S.
Now I see him losing interest by the week.
He just wants to see a bit of success .
Will this ever happen under Allardyce , take a look at his record , its never gonna happen.
I want a winner or someone that strives to be a winner not a perpetual loser.
Its the worst football ive ever witnessed this season and I dont think we long suffering blues can put up with it any longer.
As I said he done his job , now pay him and go get a manager that will get us challenging for silverware , cos Big Sam aint gonna do it.

I said realistically. Who would be top of your list who would have the slightest chance of coming to us?

the only 2 players he has bought have done the business so not sure what you are talking about in starting fires and leaving them for the next owner to deal with?

Cannot genuinely see where he has worsened the squad or setup since he's arrived, assuming that's what your cumbersome analogy is trying to emphasise.

OK mate, in simpler terms you may grasp, at every club he has been he has bought absolute dirge, that after he leaves the next manager has had to deal with, old players on big contracts, a lot of deals with the same agents for players who give a good half season for him then are utter rubbish soon as they have the contract and bonuses in their arse pocket.

With one club - yeah can make an excuse, but for the best part of 20 years that is his MO, strange he is now the one who wanted Tosun according to you, from his own mouth earlier in the season he swerved taking any responsibility for him - when Tosun wasn't getting games. As for Walcott, jesus - yeah some great scouting to find him like, never heard of Theo before we got him...

Here's a analogy, i don't know a single blue who wants Allardyce here genuinely, and if i include you in that reckoning - i still don't believe i know a single blue who wants him here. Certainly no blue who seems to jump to his defence at every single chance like certain people on here - including your good self.

Have a nice night

Allardyce has firmly got most of the media and pundits on his side mate, so we’ll know one way or the other if Moshiri has got a set of balls on him.

Heres the thing, the mainstream media by and large is having to cater to the rise of 'fan channels' mate, podcasts and the like, can see it by them starting to even have guests on the like of sky and bt from those this last season etc.

You are right about Moshiri though, time for him to do a LVG and slap them out
