Sam Allardyce:
1,032 games managed
ACTUAL trophies: 2 (last trophy 21 years ago - and am really being generous here, they're hardly MAJOR trophies.).
League of Ireland First Division (Tier 2): 1991–92
Football League Third Division: 1997–98
Overall Win Percentage: 39.4

Jose Mourinho:
881 games managed
ACTUAL trophies (major trophies): 25
Overall Win Percentage: 65.6

Diego Simeone:
577 games managed
ACTUAL trophies(major trophies): 7
Overall Win Percentage: 56.33

The sheer horror you have used Allardyce in the same sentence as the above is ridiculous, the others might be pragmatic, but they are winners and bring the trophies in... Allardyce doesnt even know what a trophy looks like.

The football will not improve.

The limit of Allardyce is here and now, he had the opportunity to show he wasn't a bad melon head when we were only 3 points behind 7th, yet every press conference was how we are in a relegation fight and HE HAS SAVED US.... Job done as he said.

Praise be to the gravy guzzler.

Please add to that, the fact that he has never achieved a points tally higher than 47 points, with any of the clubs that he has managed in the Premier League.

So this season, could be the one when he breaks his record points tally and ends up with more than 47 points, all by playing footy that makes your eyes bleed.

At the start of the season he aims for around 45 points and it doesn`t matter how it`s achieved.

Well what if we decide to stand our ground like Watford did and then their season went to crap? I think it's a legit concern.
Have a think about what you're posting mate. You're basically saying you have concerns about appointing somebody in case he is successful.

As a fellow evertonian i totally respect your opinion but I do disagree on how far you think allardyce can take us. He has never had money to spend at a club like he has now and also his first two signings ain't bad either.

Big Sam for me is the answer 100% he is very much in the mould of mourinho and simeone, a pragmatist type manager and in my opinion he is every bit as good as them two. He just needs the chance to spend the kind of money they do so that he can showcase what he can do. The football will improve at a time when it can improve.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that next season If Sam stays we will fight near the top 5. If Sam doesn't stay I believe we will be similar to this season. Change is not always good and the signs from Sam at the moment are a team progressing so someone as astute as Moshiri will very unlikely see reason to change at this point.

Evening toffees.

It feels like the club has turned into Stoke when they were at there peak of their football powers flirting with the top 8.

No I am not. I am saying I am concerned our season could tank due to how easily this guy can lose focus. I am not saying I wouldn't take him but I am saying it is a legitimate concern.

Your right, but how does getting Hull playing well equate to being good enough for Everton? Weve gone from a manager who got Wigan playing well, to Southampton to Hull, and we wonder why we cant compete with the top 6 and win nothing
I'm not saying he is good enough. But I could turn the question on you and ask why you think he wouldn't be good enough. The fact is we won't know for certain unless we give him a try.

If I made a shortlist of 3/4 managers he wouldn't be on it, but I'd support him if the cub appointed him. My last few posts have been more about not understanding why so many on here are of the opinion he'd relegate us if he was made manager.

But you want a guy who’s managing in the championship.
And he’s done well but he is at the richest club.

Interesting that according to Wikipedia, Nuno & silva have smiliar records in Portugal, though silva did win a trophy.

Both started at small clubs and did well getting them into Europe, then got bigger job off the back of that.

Nuno at Porto, where he was sacked after 1 season, in between he managed Valencia did ok in his first, but resigned in the November of the 2nd season after a defeat. Not sure how they were getting on, but I would guess they were struggling if he’s resigning after a lose.

Silva went on to sporting where like i said won a trophy and was sacked because he didn’t wear the correct club dress at a game. Again this is Wikipedia.

Not done by this weekend......he is staying:(:(:(:(

Might take a bit longer than that - Mosh might want DoF in place to to the hiring, might be waiting for other leagues/cups to finish (cough Ukraine cough), might be waiting for legal types to wrap stuff up....

If Sam is still here by June though, I'm smashing my phone and going to live in deepest Amazonian jungle I can find, pretty sure there is an unknown tribe in there who can still play better football than Allardyce

People have mentioned what Blue Onions (from COYB and TEF) has said regarding Big Sam saying.

To add, he has been right 99.9% of the time. So if he says he's saying, he probably is lads.

OK. I thought you were specifically referring to him getting his head turned, which will only happen if he has been a big success for us. 18 months ago, people were saying we were lucky to get Koeman as he would have been a perfect replacement for Arsenal when Wenger finally retired. I don't see anybody touting him for the job now.

Apart from getting his head turned, what else do you think may happen to make him lose focus.? Maybe a family bereavement. I don't know. If he does lose focus we get rid. If he loses focus because he's had his head turned, then it can only be because he has done a great job for us. If we don't employ him because that may happen in the future, then what's the point of trying to better ourselves. We should just stay well clear of all up and coming players too as surely they'll only do the same as Romelu Lukaku further down the line.

Like I said I am not opposed to him coming onboard but I don't want a guy not willing to see the thing out. I personally still believe it will be Fonesca but not completely opposed to silva.

Beggars belief anyone would rather stick with Allardyce rather than go with Silva.

It underlines how utterly shattered a section of the support of this club is. They are stumbling around in a stupor not knowing where the next blow is coming from and cant make the rational judgement to sit down and allow a solid sensible decision to be made to get us out of this abyss.
Agreed Dave, I also think if it is Silva he have a point to prove after Hull and Watford
