My point is that Hodgson - currently successful at Crystal Palace - does not come from the same school of football as Allardyce.
Hughes has been a more successful manager at Stoke than Pulis. This is his fifth season, so I don't think their current problems can be attributed to a change of style. I would say that Stoke had a poor transfer record this summer - with too many changes and too few good players coming in. And Berahino seems to have disappeared without trace. Besides, Pulis's style of play could not save him from the sack at West Brom.
