True. There could be a big spend along those lines. But Moshiri wont be digging deep and spending a penny over what's brought in, so no matter to him.

He may even be looking for a profit to buy out the contracts of the new managerial team and with Allardyce's connivance...now THAT would be pure BS.

I suppose my thoughts on allardyce was solidified Monday night.

How we could swap a crap manager who was losing games for one making us play even crapper football and win is pretty much typical of this club.

From what I have seen, allardyce has been incredibly lucky so far into his run. Huddersfield was against a quite poor team that it worked, Liverpool should have killed us off by half time , Newcastle should have beat us and Swansea are clearly going down. A different run of fixtures to start him off and we could well still be in a relegation battle, luck has played a big part.

It's this tactic of holding firm for 45 minutes before coming into the game which is going to be his downfall. Last night hoofing the ball all half and getting nowhere before coming out second half and trying to play then isn't going to work every game, or at all against anyone good. What happens when we concede more than one? What happens when the other team out allardyce us and sit back second half to soak us up? This will be a factor moving forward especially against worse teams come Feb onwards. The need for a great striker next month is even bigger now, we need a match winner up top so the likes of Rooney (who is past his best) isnt hailed as some sort of hero and can just contribute quietly.

Winnings per league position, if he gets us 7th or 8th I think he's more than covered his wage as appose to the 2m-6m we would have won for being relegated under Silva.

He's not the answer. He's a stand in for the next FT manager.
THAT'S exactly why he's here. I'm with you Dave, I don't reckon we'll see too much movement inwards, perhaps out though. Striker seems a certainty, anything else is a bonus, if they're any good like. He does have his ideas, I'm not sure we're gonna allow him to splurge though.

Football is still, despite the efforts of some, an unpredictable and volatile sport. Who'd have thought Naisy had such a magnificent hat trick in him? So I'll reserve judgement on Allardyce till the season's end.

Of course we will, he will be allowed to sign whoever he wants.

Hes not in charge of transfers, just like Koeman wasnt, we have a DoF for a reason.

Maybe.

His spending in January could be revealing. If he's recycling he's not going to be longer than a one season wonder. He has to win the cup or get us into Europe to persuade Moshiri not to cut and run for the next big(ish) managerial name.

And then, what if he does? Semis in the cup? Another seventh?

Just what we need to generate maximum thread length through the summer of '18. It would be our way, you know.

That's true, I just think we'll only get a few in. Don't think we'll go mental. They'll be Sam's type of signings though. His type of player, whatever that is. All's I'm saying is I doubt we'll go nuts on signings, I think we'll just get the necessary.

Theres gonna be 3 INs as a min I would say, I can also see lots and lots of outs.

32 players Big Sam "claims" we have in our first team squad, I say claims cos I only count 30, but anyway, we can EASILY sell/loan 7-8 without even signing anybody. Busy window, I cant see us spunking a shedload of money, but I can certainly see some squad trimming.
