Sad days when we have a manager who played to get a draw (and fans seem happy with it) at a team who are second bottom in the prem, and who hadn't won a game in their last 17 before they played us yesterday.

When we got beaten by Leicester we got 8 points from 10 games. Now 20 games played Sam got 27 points. A much needed individual who can steady the ship at the right time. Much like the time when we appointed Moyes. I rather have him in charge then someone like Silva who has proven nothing. I think what Sam needs to do now is to help Everton overtaking Burnley and get EL place.

If we finish top half, there is no way he'll be sacked. Moshiri is only marginally less conservative than Kenwright in that respect.

Surely he is entitled to be judged on the same basis as his predecessors - on results.

It makes absolutely no sense for him to be given any money in January on the basis he'll be gone in May, we can coast the rest of the season with no new additions and still finish top half, provided no bad luck with injuries.

I presume the club have indeed sounded out lots for the job, but that's the easy part and big salary or not, we are not half the attractive proposition as some like to believe we are.

Allardyce certainly has an upper limit but jettisoning him for a Silva or Fonseca would carry inherent risks, and I'm not seeing any bigger names taking the job.

I'm not enjoying the football but things are infinitely better than watching us take humiliating beatings from the likes of Soton.
He may well be off in May 2019 as he has a contract until then. We WILL buy one or possibly two strikers and two other players as well as getting rid of at least five non-players.
By the way, if he's judged on results then he is probably our best ever manager so far.

West Brom lost at home this season only to the Sky6 teams. So considering we got a point away and a clean sheet, that was ok. Is this a good enough excuse lol?

By that logic, man city should be parking the bus at Goodison since we haven’t lost at home under big fat Sam. :celebrate:

I rather we got a point than having a go and lost. Sorry.

And we ain't Man City. Look how much money they have spent in the last decade.

Allardyce came to the club with one primary aim, to steer us clear of relegation. Once he has achieved that, in order for him to see out his contract, both the owners and himself will know that he will have to start being more adventurous, playing more attacking football and going for wins against inferior sides.

However, if you listen to what he says on this video from 1 minute onward, he's now doing exactly what he described there and it's quite clearly working as we have now kept 5 clean sheets in 7 since he's been in charge, haven't lost under him yet, and have conceded the least amount of goals in the whole league.

To sum up what he says above: "It's pretty simple really, the only way Everton will get a win is by providing a clean sheet. And that is the only way forward at this moment in time, until January, when they can go out and try and find a goalscorer."

So to me it's quite clear that his number 1 aim, every game is to try and get a clean sheet/concede as few as possible and hope that the quality in the team can provide enough in attack to snatch games. and that is exactly what has happened.

He's been excellent since he's come in and is exactly what we needed at this moment in time. Quite clearly though, once we get clear of any relegation fears he is going to have to adapt his style and try and push us on. If he can't do that, he'll be thanked by the club for proving he was the right man in the short term, but not the man to take us on long term. Think everyone involved will take that.

Hadn’t seen that before, funny you posted it as I was saying to the old fella in the pub last night I reckon Sam's plan was to tighten us up at the back and stop us losing games and basically wait for January to sort out the attack.

Will be interesting to see who we bring in

Having a go does not mean we’re definitely losing. Seems like many people think it’s certain to lose if we pass better and build up with more purpose. In fact it’s entirely opposite, they are in such bad form that confidence is absolutely non existant. We simply did not capitalise on this. We actually let them have more of the ball and build up possession confidence. Crosses after crosses in the second half, absolutely unbelievable.

We face a similar position not Long ago, inferior teams play us and constantly apply pressure till we crumble. I will be laughing my ass off if Arsenal, Spurs or even Burnley visit Goodison, park the bus and let us build confidence.

Silva has won trophies though.

Big Sam hasn't in his career.

2 months ago we can't even score and conceded goals for fun. I cannot agree with you regarding your argument because we are not going to win every game and sometimes we might get a point away from home. On the other hand, I expect we win most matches at Goodison apart from facing Sky6 teams.

I do believe we have to win against Bournemouth this Sat though because they lost to other teams apart from the Sky6 teams, at home this season.
