The Bolton one is years old. The leagues changed now. Trying to defend all the time to nick something isn’t and won’t achieve anything other than staying up. Sam allardayce can’t and won’t move us beyond that platform. I pray come summer it’s thankyou Sam but we need to move on to go up and give him his fat greedy pay of.

For interests sake Anelka played 1 season under Allardyce, played 39 games and scored 12 goals
Anelkas second season - which he left in January of, and playing under Sammy Lee as manager for 2 months then Gary Megson for the next 2 months - he played 22 games and scored 11 goals.

BUT LADS SAM PLAYED BOSS TOGGER WHEN HE HAD ANELKA!!!!

The best thing he has done is polarize GOT into 2 extreme camps imo. Normally a new manager will have majority backing initially which will ebb and flow with results. Big Sam has come in here and made a clean cut right down the middle. The future of EFC is dull and functional, the future of GOT is v bright indeed

It's ace isn't it ?

We're now in a situation on GOT where, if we don't get past our noisy neighbours in the cup, then the Aunty Allardyce ( ... and yes, I spelt Aunty like that on purpose ) faction, will, despite still being hacked off about losing, take great delight in talking down to the Pro Allardyce lobby. I'd be amazed if we didn't see the odd temporary ban as a result.

If we actually progress to the fourth round, then the Pro Allardyce lobby will be in their element and it'd take the gloss off the result for a few on here.

I can't wait, well, I can really, I'm not quite that sad !

There’s a lot wrong with it. You’re literally inviting constant pressure, if the striker is getting man handled or is having off day the ball is back at you instantly.

There’s only so much luck in the world, and Sam as had a fair chunk of that already. The RS, Chelsea and West Brom should have been well ahead before we even had a sniff

Mourinho does kill games dead, I’ll agree. But they’re the big games, he would certainly not go to West Brom with the intention of getting a draw and parking the bus
Fair one, I personally have only been annoyed so far with our constant conceding of possession when Pickford wellies it as hard as he cab up the pitch. It would be fine but we offer no support up front as of yet to turn that into something useful

We’ve played the lowest scoring teams in the league, a RS team if Mane wouldn’t have been a tit would have been out of sight before we managed an attack, and a Chelsea team that did everything but score

Not to mention the chances the geordie biffs had and rondon missing sitters the other night
You can spin it however you like there though mate. It's not like anyone is going to play liverpool and chelsea and completely devoid them of a single chance at all?

In the liverpool game for example, the ONLY proper chance they made was the mane one. Which btw I would have subbed him straight away for not passing.

Our defence has a young inexperienced RB in Kenny, Jags/Williams (enough said) or a young Holgate as the CBs and uh Martina playing left back. This is as makeshift as you can get and we need to protect them.

Pick a side, son!!! Fence sitters will be first on the executioner's block

My point is that we did exactly the same to City at the start of the season, so this Allardyce revolution is a farce. The players could do it, we are the only team in the league to take a point off City.

My point stands, any half decent manager could have come in and organised the shambles. We just wouldn't have to tolerate the hoof ball merchant and his gang of merry men

In general our play has been in the toilet ever since Coleman bust his leg mate

Disagree with the luck thing though mate, Williams hitting his own bar wasn't created it was just fortunate, same as Mane not squaring a ball, refs giving us 3-4 50-/50 pens and the Barcodes hitting the woodwork twice, never mind Rondon falling over when through the other day. That is some string of luck we have had recently
Whilst I don't disagree, I still stand by my point.

I felt we had more luck in the Watford game with them missing a last second penalty for instance.

Obviously everyone views this all differently and I appreciate that, but I can also see how utter toilet we've been since pre season. Heck, since january! Or like you said, since Coleman got hurt!

A team devoid of confidence as ours, big sam in my opinion, purely backs to the wall basics, was exactly what we needed.

Now I'm not advocating that he stays in charge longer than this season - however if after january we start playing a bit and we maintain this very good form we're in then.. well it's hard to argue otherwise.

This squad is very imbalanced and I think we need another 4 or so players who can do the business in the first team to come in and replace our ageing/ not good enough players before we can really start being upset with the football

I'm in the "give him till the end of the season and see how he gets on side".
Most of the Evertonians I know are in the same camp, so it's my duty to represent the silent majority on GOT. I'm essentially the voice of the lurkers.

I like the use of the word son though. No-one's called me that for a long time !

Also people read these name sof the Bolton players and go wow he had some really class players, forgetting that Djorkaef was about 34 when he signed for them and played 2 seasons?, Speed was on his last legs and about 34/35 when he signed for them and played for them till about 37/38?, Hierro - about 36 and played 1 season - and was signed from not Real Madrid but where he'd been playing in Saudi Arabia or some such place - and was finished as a player? Ivan Campo was in fact an absolute donkey of a player and was best known for some horrific tackles he made rather than his 'silky skills'

Of them all the only truly class player was Okocha - but a player who was as much a MoTD highlights player as you could ever seem some amazing skills that looked brilliant and led to nothing, and the occasional wonder goal which had everyone raving over hi, career stats at Bolton - 124 games - 14 goals...

Again, true - but since that game we went downhill - and fast!

There didn't seem to be any half decent managers available or willing at that awkward point in the season though.

Ok, you could argue about Marko Silva but I for one have not bought into his hype.

Fonseca would have been my.choice and the truth is I know very little about him other than reading a stupidly long and indepth article about his style. That being said, could he have come into this side with none of his own signings etc and had us perform that way when we were leaking goals for fun? I'm not so sure

Your honesty is appreciated Mr Woolly of Blueshire. When the great war starteth, your voice of reason will be welcome

Down with Sam

Like I’ve said the day we appointed him the owners piddled all over us and any ambition we and them had. When WHEN Liverpool knock us out I still want him gone end of season it makes no difference.

He shoudnt be evertons manager. End of the season is enough. Maybe then I might go back lol
