Also people read these name sof the Bolton players and go wow he had some really class players, forgetting that Djorkaef was about 34 when he signed for them and played 2 seasons?, Speed was on his last legs and about 34/35 when he signed for them and played for them till about 37/38?, Hierro - about 36 and played 1 season - and was signed from not Real Madrid but where he'd been playing in Saudi Arabia or some such place - and was finished as a player? Ivan Campo was in fact an absolute donkey of a player and was best known for some horrific tackles he made rather than his 'silky skills'

Of them all the only truly class player was Okocha - but a player who was as much a MoTD highlights player as you could ever seem some amazing skills that looked brilliant and led to nothing, and the occasional wonder goal which had everyone raving over hi, career stats at Bolton - 124 games - 14 goals...

Every team plays hoof the ball under him and just because the odd player scores a worldy makes no difference every team has it. Hurry up and go Sam with your boring football.

Again, true - but since that game we went downhill - and fast!

There didn't seem to be any half decent managers available or willing at that awkward point in the season though.

Ok, you could argue about Marko Silva but I for one have not bought into his hype.

Fonseca would have been my.choice and the truth is I know very little about him other than reading a stupidly long and indepth article about his style. That being said, could he have come into this side with none of his own signings etc and had us perform that way when we were leaking goals for fun? I'm not so sure

It did, and Koeman did not address it. Which i found bizzare, he stuck by players who were clearly struggling and he was chopping and changing his defence. The lack of pressure from the front resulted in us having gaping holes in midfield because they weren't compact enough.

Then "Unsy" came in and god knows what he was doing, then the crowd got restless and the "relegation"word got mentioned and everything went to pot.

Silva was not for me; but i would have went all balls out on Tuchel. £7m a year would have at least peeked is interest

End of the season you would probably be able to make a highlight video of our goals this season, including some absolute belters and think the style of football was a lot different to the actual reality.

Like I’ve said the day we appointed him the owners piddled all over us and any ambition we and them had. When WHEN Liverpool knock us out I still want him gone end of season it makes no difference.

If we beat Liverpool, and I appreciate it's a very big if, the first thing I do when I get home will be to logon to GOT and vault you like you've never been vaulted before !

Unsworth was in a situation where to do 'well' wasn't gonna be enough to get the job mate, he had to do amazing to get himself a chance - so his hand was forced into gambling to try get big results - kind of understandable given the horrid situation he was placed in

Ultimately mate we beat them then unless we actually go on to win the thing it means very little besides to break the record, got the feeling BFS will become the first manager to lose a cup game at anfield for a very very long time though instead.

My point stands, any half decent manager could have come in and organised the shambles. We just wouldn't have to tolerate the hoof ball merchant and his gang of merry men[/QUOTE]
You can't have one without the other unfortunately with this lot as the team is so unbalanced

I think he's done fine on the whole so far but I also think it's fine to say Boxing day was a load of crap and anyone making out it was a good point is talking rubbish as they would have been unhappy with that from any of our previous managers so I can't see why Sam should be treated differently , the way I see it is his aim should be to get us as far up the table as possible not save us from relegation as it was almost a certainty from before the moment he took over that we were in a position to easily stay up.

I can't imagine a day when beating Liverpool means very little.
We likely will lose, but some are almost itching for that to happen, which is kind of sad.
