We played our best stuff when he took Rooney off. Not a tactical change because Rooney was a tackle away from a red card and had been ineffectual throughout.

His reliance on tried and tested is tiresome. Bolasie was out on his feet after 40 mins but played the whole match.

It’s driven into the brain. It’s now acceptable to give the RS a game apparently, along with going to West Brom and Bournemouth (FFS) and playing 9 behind the ball and wanting a draw

WTF have we become

Nobody above us would hire sam allardyce with 24 games left of a season, they have standards and that is why the likes of spurs/Leicester have now overtaken us. We will never escape our current slump with the current attitude that runs through the club and fanbase.

Is the correct answer

Can imagine wenger getting canned and the gooners coming calling for the fat man

The lack of ambition and acceptance of mediocrity (at best) of some people on here is staggering

Not lack of ambition or acceptance of mediocrity.....it's common sense that any manager would not turn us into world beaters overnight so we are accepting that the manager has a job on his hands and it's step by step, slowly slowly as long as we progress. There was signs tonight and against Man Utd that we are now trying to attack and strike a balance between defence and attack....takes a little time, experimentation and the managers choice of players to do it. Patience is needed as it is not a quick fix.

I really don't think sacking every single manager we have until we win a trophy is going to turn us into Barcelona. It sure hasn't helped Swansea. Or Watford that much, either. Or Leeds.

So to achieve this we appoint a manager who has achieved nothing in his career.

The appointment of allardyce is a clear indication of lack of ambition. No other teams who are “hoping to crack the top 6” would make that appointment.

It’s a sign of pure desperation

4 goals conceded
1 scored
1 shot on target

Not sure we've got the balance quite right.

He was brought in for his experience and to stabilise the team. The very words out of Moshiri's mouth.

It's not like he's on a 3+ year deal either...

We don't compete because we are set up not to. The day we think that is acceptable is the day we accept life as west brom.... We can sign an entirely new squad and it won't make a blind bit of difference.

We don't compete because we are playing a 20 year old kid as our main striker, who looks like he's dead on his feet and he sould be coming on for the final 20 minutes of games to get experience.
Also we are playing with essentially 10 men with that clown martina as left back.

Loads of teams have played like us and won things but just have had a longer time to implement it with signings that can implement it.

Conte last season played a defensive style with long balls to costa as its main outlet, mourinio with drogba, zlatan, benzema and milito. They just have better players and more time to implement their style.

You think that if pep took over swansea and after 10 games and no transfer window they'd be playing like city do now? Of course not. It took pep a season, 2 pre seasons, 3 transfer windows and a hell of a lot of money to get his style in place with players he wants to play it and he's the best manager in the world ffs.

People on here won't even give allerdyce till the end of the transfer window Because they think we should be playing total football or something. Need to get a grip we haven't played good football for a prolonged period at everton since martinez first season and even then we went crap at the last 7-8 games.
