I think you dont understand how contracts work. Regardless of whether it seems "silly", if there is a contract in place, breaking it sets up Everton for liability, and Malaga have no incentive to start a trend of releasing players early. Regular people may not view contracts all that seriously, but trust me, attorneys do. Its what they live for. The only thing silly enough to keep the announcement delayed are things like that.
