Virtually every striker Athletico Madrid's had in the last 10 years has used them as a stepping stone, it's the reality for all but the richest handful of clubs. It's generally the same for Dortmund too. The key is to have good scouting and keep replacing them with good players when they leave

He may have a clause, but I highly doubt that Everton will give him a small release fee in just 12-months, they'll be fully aware of Atletico's interest.
