When second in the betting for the next Celtic manager is the coach of City's academy and schoolboy setup, it just seems they're shopping in the really cheap discount stores once again.

The lad maybe half decent at that level - another Unsworth even, which tbf would prabably make more than top drawer in Scoland, but it looks like cost and the cheap deal is the motivation once again. The fact Kennedy topped the betting says it all - he won't cost much.

Ah so Maresca was for Celtic?

I mean, you never really know how its going to go, do you?

But you can't even blame Lawell for it now can you? They got lucky to get the pedigree of Rodgers, and just absolutely got it wrong with Lennon. Anyone could win a league without Rangers, and it's set them back for years.

Maresca could be guardiola esque, but is that what they need?

So Derek McInnes the greatest manager Scotlands ever seen, has been kicked out on his rear end. lol I said it before and i'll say it again, Rangers dodged a bullet when he rejected them. He was seriously overrated by the scottish media, and a certain person on here. I was proven right on this.
Congrats on the league title. I've never seen so many ba-heided men in grey marl joggers gathered in one place as in George Sq the other day!

Maybe they may look at the drop off Arsenal have had under Pep's former second in command Arteta. Working side by side with Pep at City, Arteta had far more chance than Maresca to learn his techniques and what makes them work so effectively.

Turning up for work at The Etihad every weekday doesn't turn you into Guardiola Arsenal are struggling but admittedly Arteta is learning his trade in a very, very tough league. Maresca may be absolutely out of his depth in the prem but still top drawer for Celtic, what's for certain is that he won't cost much.

Cheap you say.

Welcom to Aberdeen

Some loons in our place are saying alex Neil....no chance.
Stephen Glass doing wheelies on the broad hill with his coca cola bike?
I wrote somewhere recently about Neil coming over well in a post match interview, I think I’d been watching Anthony Gordon, and he was very articulate and precise in his tactical awareness. Yeah he’d probably have to be sacked by Preston to be available for the Dons budget.
Haha, used to do hill reps up the Broad Hill 20 odd years ago, think I saw Glass there lol

Neil at one time would have been a good shout, he started well at Hamilton then did exceptional at Norwich getting them into the Premiership and getting them off to a flying start, since then though the wheels have come off, similar with Lambert whose stock was also high at one point.

Will certainly take a type to manage the Dons, they clearly missed an opportunity when Rangers were out of the picture.

I hope whoever comes in can kick start the club and give Scottish football more than a two horse race and I include the likes of Hibs, Hearts and others in that sentiment.

It will be interesting in the coming weeks to see who ends up at the Dons and Parkhead and who knows Ibrox may be looking for a new manager in the near future.

I imagine gerrard will be keeping a watchful eye on who takes over at parkhead. If its someone he doesn't fancy going up against next year he'll be off. His stock is as high as it's going to get in Scotland now.

Sunnybank who famously beat the Don's pre season use that for pre season training, along with every other club in Aberdeen, it seems.

Pressure on the chairman to get it right after saying the new training ground would be a new dawn.
Only new Dawn ,is big Dawn in the new canteen.
Lovely stovies,tho.

I really can't see Gerrard leaving Rangers unless Klopp was sacked at Liverpool. Although winning the Scottish title isn't normally seen as much of an achievement in England, breaking the one horse race monopoly is probably seen as significant.

Gerrard having proven he can compete has achieved what many thought improbable, with no premier league jobs likely to be offered a struggling club in the second tier Championship would be the slternative.

Lenny found out how finances and a downward spiral can make that switch brutal, you're not high profile anymore and noone really cares. You only make it if you have absolutely outstanding managerial ability, it's a constant battle against huge odds with one hand tied behind your back, it's not an attractive alternative.

Lenny sunk without trace at Bolton and Gerrard would be a fool to leave imo.

Only scenario I could really picture is your first paragraph Chris, honestly (maybe it's more hope than anything else) can't see Liverpool getting out of this slump anytime soon and the goon in charge of them is looking increasingly lost with each post match interview which passes.
