SCRAP VAR

The whole VAR thing is a shambles - it may be here to stay but the 'human error' side remains the constant in all decisions made and we have so many inconsistencies in ruling across the various games that it detracts from its purpose and creates uncertainty in interpretation. Much to the disdain of players and supporters especially of those clubs outside the so-called 'Big 4/6' who seem to fall foul of its inadequacies more and more often.

If you have to draw a line to check if it a player is level with the last defender, I'd say the attacker is probably level with the last defender (and therefore onside). The arbitrary positioning of the lines against the player, then where the vertical line meets the flat surface of the pitch in another plane cannot be done with the degree of precision that that they pretend they have. It shows they don't know what they are dealing with.

That line is open for debate. But in the end it's down to the officials operating it.
Why are officials operating it. Hawkeye is run by a computer. No bias there. This offside system can be manipulated by the officials they can decide which frame they use, where they put the lines. It’s borders on cheating.

As others have said, VAR isn’t the problem, it’s the idiots making the definitions & the incompetents making the calls.

Offside should be on the feet! End of! No shoulder, elbow, nose hair bollox..

When a goal like that one of Gray’s last night doesn’t stand, I agree the game is being ruined, but not by the technology.
Hit the nail on the head. The feet are planted on the floor and is the only true datum in this system.
