Cant be easy with that lazy get Walcott in front of him. That said, you can see he doesn't fancy taking defenders on anymore. He chops back half way line and plays the ball inside. He's becoming Hibbertesque.

Kenny doesn't look ready either (assuming he's good enough to develop).

We need to go into the transfer market.
We need a rightsided Digne.

Who's on Barca's books???

That horror leg break was always going to mean he would never be the player he once was.

He’s still a good full back, but I can’t see him ending next season as our first choice. When he is replaced will depend on how high up on the priority list he is compared to a centre forward, another centre mid and maybe another winger.
Right back is up there with striker for me. Maybe even above needing a striker if Richy continues to net goals.

Honestly Coleman is so poor, he wouldn't get into almost any other current top 10 side. We have almost no right hand impetus because of it.

That being said if he gets injured we resort to Kenny... So yup for me it has to be a right back first as it's the most blatant weaklink in the current first XI

This is genuinely what my dad said the other day watching him against Spurs:

"I can't believe he isn't able to get back to how he was after that double leg break".

FFS.

Haha.....

Ironically, I think his best game since the injury was his very first game back. It’s terrible to see him a shadow of his former self. It was a horror tackle that did this to him. He’s been an immaculate servant to the club.

Part of the curse that affecting our club, some higher order has stuck pins in a dummy of our seamy making him a bit meh. We need to exercise this curse, just off to paint some pagan symbols on the kitchen floor.

For me, If we have the chance to sign another top class full back then the money should go there. Hes so far the weakest link in the eleven.

After that a new right forward to replace Walcott...basicslly a new right side as good as the left.

Agreed, Seamus has been a longtime favorite of mine, but hes now the weakest link in the team, and the first one that needs to be replaced. I think he will be an excellent backup next season, with Kenny out on loan, but sign a top RB first, before a forward or midfielder.

Leg breaks have destroyed 2 full backs for us. If Oviedo hadn't broke his he would have took over from Baines probably by the end of that season. Never the same player afterwards. Unfortunately Coleman is of an age when full backs start declining the leg break appears to have accelerated this, it's important we learn from our Baines error and get someone in now. Put Kenny out on loan, be more like Chelsea and get others to develop our players. We could still get money for Coleman as he walks into most bottom half sides. Where we are going sentiment has to be put to the back of your mind.

All careers come to their end, but I still hope this great man recovers most or all of his former ability. Coleman is more than just another good EFC player. His character and personalty, love of Everton stand out. I hope he gets some qualification, if he wants one to stay, at Everton after his playing days are over. I would hate to seem him drift to some League of Ireland club. He is a one-off guy.

he's nowhere near finished, dear god, if we did buy someone better I'd still want a 30year old Seamus here and Kenny too, these players are nowhere near as bad and as declined as some make out. Was 6 months ago everyone demanded he be made Captain, now he's had a few shaky games and it's out the door with you pal. fans have no patience anymore and players are not allowed bad runs of form.

Think you’re letting sentiment slightly affect your judgement. He’s 30 not 21, while 30 isn’t old, after an injury like he’s had, it was always going to be difficult to reproduce his old form.

Like I’ve said before Coleman biggest strength was his pace, if he was a very good technical player, he may now still be able to perform at a very good level, unfortunately he’s was never that great technically and it was his pace and determination, aggression that put the opposition on the back foot, his passing and crossing/ final ball was always pretty average imho.

Now the pace has gone, he offers nothing, constantly stop and goes back, never commits anyone.

If we are serious about challenging, sentiment needs to go. It’s hung around at our club for far to long.

It's not sentiment not writing players off after a few bad/average games, it's called common sense and you make decisions like that over a longer period. If he's really really can't get his form back then fair enough and everyone is right that he may well never regain after that injury but i think fans are jumping the gun a bit.

He doesn't link with Walcott very well that's half the problem, it's taken away his strengths because they're similar types who make the same runs and want to occupy the same spaces, it's no surprise to me that both of them are struggling, I'd rather not be hasty and see what happens.

First of all, I’m not sure how long he’s been back? But he must be close to 30 games, how many great games has he had?

Also over the years he’s had players in front of him, worse than Walcott. So I don’t think you can use that as an argument
