Our best runs of form last season

Forest A (w)
Newcastle H (w)
Chelsea H (w)
Burnley A (w)

Forest H (w)
Liverpool H (w)
Brentford H (w)

I’m not sure anyone would have said 4 wins out that first stretch of games and they’d not have said 9 points out the second.

It’s why fixture predictions are difficult. You’ve obviously got more of a chance v bottom half sides at home but if you’re not playing well these fixtures are difficult meanwhile if you’re confident and playing well you can get results against better teams.

I didn’t see us beating Brentford away last season before the game, or Newcastle at home, or Liverpool, meanwhile I was convinced we’d roll Luton and Fulham. It’s just the way it is.

We’ll drop points in upcoming fixtures and we’ll gain points in December in harder ones

Doucoure did play in first 2 games, 2 defeats and 7nil on aggregate
Maybe people need to look at the fixtures, Leicester, Ipswich and palace in 3 of our last 4
Yeah, a bit weird that people are like "look what happened when Doucoure came into the team". Hes been in the team. We were terrible. It wasnt until he DROPPED Doucoure that we played our best game against Bournemouth. Tim bossed the game, and the only reason we lost that is because Tim was exhausted(among others) and Dyche decided to sub IN Doucoure.

We were up 2-0 when Doucoure came in, and gave up 3 goals immediately after.

We started the season with 3 top 7 teams, and the last couple wins have been against teams at the bottom of the table. People need to take into account who we play...Doucoure is good enough to play against Ipswich town and Southampton. Hes not against Brighton and Chelsea.

You genuinely think any sane manager at 2-0 up away at Ipswich with 1 win in 7 games takes of his experienced right back & central midfielders for Roman Dixon & Harrison Armstrong?

Wasn't meant to bring them all together, but would have used more than 1 sub. We looked kind of tired again after min 70.

Mangala, Dixon, Armstrong, Beto, Coleman, OBrien, Patterson.

Not the best bench surely, but Patterson surely apart of Mangala.

I'm conflicted I feel a different manager that is thoroughly vetted could help us evolve as a club but at the same time I'll be at two Goodison matches in December hoping to live my dream and have the opportunity to boo dyche in person

Wolves, RS, Chelsea, Forest

Could work for u, despite the first and last should be wins.

They were our only runs, never mind best we won 6 games out of 28 v the top 14

Could have spread them out a bit more but then you wouldn’t have had the no wins in 15 game stat you love so much. It still proves the point that predicting fixtures for points returns isn’t very useful.
Given the situation we have been in and still are this season, Dyche’s focus is on the 6-8 clubs around us and ensuring we maximise points returns from those games.
We got 11 points from the 3 teams who were relegated and 12 from Forest and Brentford last season.
Let’s hope we can repeat it this year.

Well it definitely is because again this season most of our wins will be against the bottom sides.
We may beat a Utd or arsenal,
Chelsea like we do every season.
But under dyche we don’t lay a glove against the top 6/7 sides away from home .

It's a pretty strange thing, whilst he was a top 3 in all of these games, showing really promising things, we didn't win any of these.

Now Doucoure has taken the spot and was probably almost worst 3 in all of these matches, we won 8 points in these.

But surely that's not his fault. Keane and Young that were big weak points in the first 4 games, stabilized massively. We had shaky moments in all of those games, but surely we look better now than in the first 4 games.

He doesn't have to start every game, but should at least get regular game time which is more than 8minx on average in 4 games.
Tim was not the reason we lost those games. Dyche made an adjustment (that has worked to his credit) particularly to shield the fullbacks and Doucore has taken that role. They were the obvious weak links in the side so Dyche improved their security.

Would Tim have taken that role if he was asked to by Dyche? Would Gana fill that role instead? We don't know because he waited til Tim was out of the team to make the adjustment.
