2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Why are you getting pop corn in the hope of enjoying what you think will be an Everton loss?

I’m not happy with what’s being offered but the difference seems to be who we blame for it.

I blame successive owners of the club for running a sell to buy/loan policy for the majority of the last 3 decades. Gradually decreasing the quality of the squad to one that was firmly in the bottom half.

You seem to blame Dyche because he’s not turned that around in 22 months. Goodison did used to be an intidimidatinf venue playing the school of science way sweeping all before us….in the late 80s. It hasn’t been since. I’d you want to get angry at Dyche 24/7 for that then that’s up to you.

We could get a Glasner Hasenhuttl Bielsa Lage Potter Frank Kompany Vieira Silva whatever else flavour of the month has been called for and I absolutely guarantee you that whilst some aspects will change to your liking others won’t and we will fundamentally end up caught in the same rang blind truth that if you give managers bottom half squads then they’re not going to outperform that by much and not consistently. We might have more do the ball on a matchday or make make subs when you want, or score more or go for it more but ultimately we’re still losing drawing and winning a similar number of games and maybe finishing 10th or 11th in a good season and 16/17th in a bad one.

I want Everton to be the best in the country again b it that comes from the owners giving a manager a squad that’s up there with the best in the league. Until a manager is underperforming the quality of his squad I can’t motivate myself to get that angry and blame them because as we’ve seen multiple mangers tend to just produce the same outcome.

You’ll have a point if Dyche is playing this way after massive investment in player quality by Friedkins and we’re finishing 14th with the 7th best squad in the league. You’re effectively asking Dyche to play football and produce results akin of the 7th best squad in the league even though he has a bottom half one.
whilst I agree the owners have ruined this club top to bottom and I want exactly the same thing as you and all other fans want, to be successful.

But this manager in charge is getting paid very well (one of the top earners in the premier league) it is his job to get the players better that he is working with and get the team competing against other teams in the league.

Yes the owners have destroyed this club, my gripe is with this manager he thinks he is better than what he is, he never takes responsibility for anything, bad results performances etc he is the only person to change that, Players are starting to get very frustrated with his tactics and way of playing, you can see that in the body language (Never seen Pickford go off his nuts like he did yesterday to him)

As regards the popcorn I will never take satisfaction of Everton being beaten, but your implying that Dyche is a much better manager than the guy from Southampton, to me he is no better, Dyche has stolen a living out of football just by getting a team set up and hard to break down.
football is about scoring goals Dyche doesn't do that, his teams have always struggled to score goals fact

Hold your nose and see Everton into a new stadium in a league they can commericlalise that new stadium with, and the opportunity for a new start with new players and a manager who will have a go at teams. The attrition gets Everton where they need to be short term, the risk of changing to an idealist now without the resources they need presents a lot of risk while we’re managing six points about relegation, somehow.

Not hard at all…it just explains the rationale for the debate.

I would be moderately satisfied if we achieved what we did give or take. Whilst I’d be grateful we have not been relegated I wouldn’t be satisfied if we finish 17th as this would represent regression with a marginally better squad than last year, and what I consider to be a similar strength league (if not slightly d8minshed in strength given the start some of the teams have had).

Remind me a little of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Everyone sees us or expects us to be at different levels.
Well there might be something with this and there is a good reason for it and tbh, it's the clubs fault (No surprise there) rather than Dyche or the fans. When he was appointed I don't think there is a single person that doesn't know what he is, he is the footballing equivalent of Ronseal ie he does exactly the what it says on the tin, the bare basics and nothing else. That's fine and it was what was needed at the time with us languishing in the bottom with half a season to go. However Dyche is on massive money, the sort of money that's given to managers pushing clubs for European football (£5m+£3m bonus) which is why so many fans are constantly questioning things like tactics and the lack of coaching and other things, you don't expect it from someone on these sort of wages, you would expect a bit more than the bare basics. His contract is nearly done anyway and TFG will hopefully be in place soon and they will decide what they want to do, personally I think they will want their own DoF/manager in place.

Are you that stupid??
Do you actually think that if TFG give dyche a new deal and money he will turn us into a much better football team and have us on the front foot at home dominating teams and have us pushing for Europe.

We played a 2nd division side twice in 12 months( Doncaster) and played terrible archaic football against them both times and just managed to scrape through in both games

I went to bed last night still appalled by how we played yesterday, At home against a team just a measly 3 points clear of us with the chance to be rubbing shoulders with Man utd and pushing a top 10 spot by 7.30pm. Why did we dig in and apparantly show no desire of taking the game to them to accomplish this? Unfathomable. Now i'm thinking that i have no clue as to what Dyche said to them before the game....did he maybe tell them to go for it but Fulham were just too good for them to do it? They did look different class for 75 minutes. I think we sorely miss Garner and Tim, the gap between our DM's and the lads further forward was shocking, Fulham tore through us at will. Complex changed when Mangala came on i thought and we looked more of a side. We have the players for a top 10 spot but they really need somebody in charge who can set them up and read a game. Never in a million years did we look like the home side. Against City maybe understandable, agains Fulham, unacceptable.

Agree with everything, but surely you’re not surprised as he’s been setting up
Like this 9 games out of 10, since he got here.
We had 25% possession at home to Southampton reserves in the cup last month
