2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

What?! We didn't win a game for 4 months and looked the most half-arsed relegation fodder team in the league during that time and had no actual spark of hope or life.

We got 5 wins at the end and this is magically forgotten then?
It really does beggars belief that Dyche managed to remain in post for that whole winless streak with hindsight. The Friedkins would have been through like four managers in that space of time.

It's a shame that the club hasn't learned from the multiple painful lessons in the past.

Now a nightmare six weeks is coming up where we are virtually guaranteed to be nestled in the bottom three at the end of it. At least a new manager could have had a shot at a few unexpected results in December.

Speaks volumes about the lack of leadership at the club, but that's been obvious for a long time anyway.

People really do seem to have forgotten this, it's quite weird. This was the point I (unsuccessfully) made a few times over the weekend - looking at where we finished last season and using that as a yardstick of what to expect this season is flawed logic because our finishing position wasn't really in keeping with what happened over the course of the season. We put a little run together at the end and suddenly it was as if people thought all our problems were solved and we were now an upwardly mobile team, it's bizarre. Again, whether you choose to see this as a defence or a criticism of Dyche depends on your own biases, but for me we are still very much a team I would expect to be in the lower reaches of the table and a little burst of good form in the last month or so of last season doesn't make me reassess the overall level of the squad I've watched struggle for the last 3/4 years.

I honestly thought we were unlucky to lose quite a few of those games during that bad run. Wheras now we look extremely lucky when we win or draw games, but I’ll concede that it could just be nostalgia

Mate might be news to you, but it’s not magically forgotten but leagues are played over 9 months of year called a season. Over this season there are good runs and bad runs. Some of these bad runs might go on for a long period sometimes. At the end of the season the teams points totals are calculated and that is how you tell how well you performed. *

* don’t forget to knock off some points for over spending on a terrible recruitment

Original point was that we look half arsed - we looked even more so last year - not the length of a season.

Good runs and bad runs for a few games yes, we didn't win a single game for 4 months mate.

He’ll leave in the summer, he’ll then go on every media outlet telling the world how bad he had it

Nobody will question his poor tactics, game management or general approach to every game. The 7 wins in a calendar year, 3 months without a win

They continue the notion that poor old Everton had the worst team ever to be seen the top flight and Sean Dyche worked unbelievable miracles in keeping us going

Self preservation is the aim of the game

Terrible run of form. Proceded and Followed by a good run of form. Balanced over a season.
