2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

This season was and excellent opportunity for Dyche. Probably the biggest of his career. He kept us up by playing defensive, safety first footy when we needed it. Credit where it’s due. Last season in particular nobody can argue with his results. But this year he had a clean slate to try and adapt, to not play turgid stuff and to develop something for thing for the future. The fixture run was absolutely plum. By doing this, he would’ve given any new owner a serious headache about whether to sack him.

For me he’s completely bottled it. He has nothing in his locker except what he’s shown here, and even that, the threat from set pieces etc, seems to have dissipated.

He’s now a man with nothing to play for as he knows he’s out the door as soon as TFG come in. He’s also put us in a very tough position having blown so many easy fixtures. For all parties, the sooner he leaves the better. I think he’ll look back on this season one day and regret it, if he’s humble enough.
You’re not wrong mate. I just find it incredible that people ever thought it was ever going to go any other way. He had these same types of moments at Burnley and time and time again he doubled down.

There will be times in your life cycle as a fan when you are good and bad.

Whether you are entertained or not is irrelevent. No one cares.

Your team is your team, it’s more then entertainment, it’s your background, your history, belonging to something bigger then yourself, a shared identity, culture, belief, hope values and connections that are intrinsic.

Whether you’re entertained or not is a wish but not essential.

We’ve been relegation fodder for three seasons now and I keep hearing people say they aren’t entertained, yet you can’t get a ticket for a game they are all sell out and if you get rid of your season ticket in the morning there are 10s of thousands waiting to take it off you.

It’s more.

We’d all still be going and supporting if we were in the relegation zone in Div 2.
Relegation fodder 😂 we got 48 points last season

We're bang in trouble.

3 seasons on the spin averaging 41 points before this one.

We just can't score the goals we need. Again. We tried to address that by signing Lindstrom and NDiaye? Never enough.

Have to spend and spend well in January.
I mean broja coming good, and dele turning the clock 7 years would probably shift us up the table. But we are in wing and a prayer territory here.

Don’t understand your point here mate.

We were fighting to survive most of last season and there was a jeopardy to staying up to the last few games.

I mean people were there. 😂

Sure we achieved 48 points in overarching terms, but the points deductions created a real life risk. We did really well with a limited squad in adverse circumstances.

Essentially we have been at risk of relegation for three seasons now.

An actual football manager will get better results than current inept one who clearly cannot = detached take.

Ok.
only merccanariea would join the club in the situation we are in now. Or David moyes tbf. I’m not sure that’s the result you want.
New owners new, outlined spending budget, long term plan - well that’s a different proposition

A points deduction putting us in a relegation battle has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the team though? Our team was factually better than 8 other teams at football last season. That’s not “relegation fodder”

I’ve had a season ticket now for 22 years. My 20 minute walk to the match every other week is out of sheer habit and the fact I’m waiting and hoping for something better next year in the stadium.

I dread going the match under Dyche as I know I’ll hate every last second of it as it’s not enjoyable in the slightest. It bores me that much, it puts me off watching any other footy.

Walking back home after Brentford, big game kicking off at half 5 and I couldn’t be bothered in the slightest watching it as I’ve been drained of football.

Quite a few lads I drink with are similar to yourself, long term season ticket holders, but they’ve stopped going for all the reasons you mention above.

Most weekends in the pub, they’re offering their tickets around the pub, like they’ve always done when they couldn’t go.

The difference is now, no one wants them, not even the pub arlarse who’ll have anything for free.

Virtually to a man, they all say the same thing “ if we weren’t moving to a new stadium, I wouldn't be renewing again “

Many times over the years I’ve taken my own lad on the back of freebies c/o the lads from the pub, but now when he’s home from Uni, he’s saying to me “ what’s the point “.

The last few remaining of his supporters on here can defend him all the want, but to me when people are turning down free tickets due to knowing how bad the footy is going to be, before a ball is even kicked, sums up exactly what Dycheball has / is doing to our club.

As much as I hate to say this, but what Slot is doing over the park shows that with proper coaching and tactics can do for a team, limited ability or not, that lot over there could not do what they did to madrid tonight when Kloop was there, they also would not be that far ahead in the league, as they seem unstoppable at the moment with the same players as last season, just being coached different with different tactics.

So all this Dyche is doing fantastic with our players and getting the best out of them. Do me a favour, a proper manager who has something about them would have us mid table at least
I think what’s happened at Villa or Forest is a better comparison than Liverpool, to be honest.

Your point is sound, the example could be refined.

Even with the deduction we were 14 points clear 😂
So overall we’re now saying this manager has improved us season on season! 😂

Never change lids! ;)
and yes, he improved us last season in terms of results and finishing position. Don’t think anyone has claimed he didn’t. He was lucky imo that he wasn’t sacked last season during that awful run as he would have been in previous years but ultimately it worked out,

He has then taken us backwards from there though and looks pretty clueless this season. And with the run of games coming up, and the way we have been playing, I have zero expectation he turns it round.

Well yes, that was the entire basis of his point and why I said it was an awful take.
It's really not though, and you're quoting the exact reason why it's not? We can pretend all we want that the RS aren't well coached but the evidence points to the contrary. The likely "outside factors" don't really matter in this discussion as they are actually prepared for games and have more than 1 plan.

Would it work better for you if anyone pointed out just about any other manager? Nuno, Emery, Hurzeler? It makes no difference who exactly you mention by name, the point stands - a good manager who is actually improving and adapting himself and his knowledge should be getting more out of these players; not "challenge for the title" more obviously, but "comfortably midtable" should be/is achievable.
