2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Isn’t that the trajectory I just summarised, we were relegation fodder, he improved us, now we’re relegation fodder again! ;)

Aren’t we all saying the same thing! ;)

Even last season, with our points given back we didn't hit 40 points until 33/34 games.

We had a great run of form in the run in but this was 16th April;

And that was optimistic. Check the replies...

We started this season 4th favourite to go down and that factored in a Leicester deduction.

Any team in successive relegation rights who don't spend are relegation fodder until they aren't.

From the person who has form for using the words handicapped and cabbage as insults.

👎
Deep cut, from almost a year ago. Genuinely sorry about that use of handicapped by the way, out of order on my part.

Cabbage though, no, best I can do is substitute it with melon mate. Never said I'm not childish

Not the type of childishness I meant here anyway, more the fact that it doesn't matter what the post/response to Neiler is, he's started resorting to the schoolyard "HAHA OKAY MATE  HAHA LOL @ U" and/or then shifting his point to something else, for most things, when he can't answer with anything relevant to the point. Case and point is the post I quoted - Marius even agreed with him and he still twisted the point for some bizarre sideways narrative he's making up on the spot. Honestly sad to see, as I've said several times, as he's a good person and this feels like some odd downfall/Davekification of character, which makes it annoying also.

Fair enough, guess I can cut you some slack seeing as you're not scouse/English. The word cabbage has connotations with somebody whose brain isn't functioning the way it should be, it usually, or should I say 'historically', implies somebody is paralysed or has severe learning difficulties. I saw you using it recently, which is the only reason I brought it up again. ;)

I think we all need to just try and get on better. It's not exclusive to the dychettes to chat crap. There's posters on both sides of the argument who can fashion good debate, but there's also people on both sides who chat a lot of crap. Unfortunately, more of them are in the anti Dyche camp. I'm not saying that proves I'm right or anything, or that Dyche is immune to criticism, it's just the internet for you - if there's a majority there's likely to be more idiots in said majority. My gut instinct is that Neiler feels a bit exasperated at times and just resorts to sarcasm or glib replies.

As I say, we should try to get on better. It's not easy being an Everton fan recently, and people are rightfully worried about all sort of scenarios. Just because we think one manager might be better than another one doesn't mean we should lose sight of that.

Never associated or meant it that way, "vegetable" is usually that way, but still, thank you for the education. I just use vegetables/fruit at random for that really.

I know he feels exasperated but he's doing this to himself and to everyone else too - bringing up reasonable enough debate only to be like that, leading to more aggro/exasperation is what makes it crap/weird really. Similar to how Senor GOT brings up the same things over and over and says we should be open to new things in the same breath - it leads to nothing and makes this thread even more exhausting. Funny, but exhausting.

I see what you're saying about getting along better, it makes great sense, however BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO x

Football isn’t just entertainment, too many are peddling this line, it’s more.
I agree It’s more than entertainment or after the last few years the place would be empty but I find it hard to argue that the current football on display, the results and frankly the feeling around the place is making it at best a tough watch .

What I do find staggering is in what is our last season at goodison is people chatting , lots of seats including season tickets sat empty and fans leaving at the first opportunity. I’ve never seen the fanbase so disenchanted with club and team.

I pray that today will be his last press conference.

Not one journalist will pull him up over his negative football, comment or he complete lack of ownership over this squad this season.

He blames the past but he has been here for nearly 2 years, he has spent money and brought in his players.

I am with you...

I'm not praying though, because as @chicoazul says, it's just "soccerball"...
