2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Yes.

Can't wait to see which very high profile job Dyche will be in contention for, seeing as we're laughing at Lampard for going to the Championship.

Not laughing at him. This might blow your mind, but I backed Frank on here. I'm not, nor never will be, part of the 'pick a side' mob.

As our previous manager he's highly relevant to the discussion.

Anyway, he'll get a better job than Coventry because he's a better manager. Reckon he'll get the Spurs job. Only joking, he'll end up at Leeds or Southampton or something probably.

According to Wikipedia;

Lampard: 44 Games. Won 12. Drawn 8. Lost 24. 27.3%
Dyche: 77 Games. Won 25. Drawn 23. Lost 29. 32.47%

I think our squad now is worse - we've had years of needing to sell. Richarlison, Iwobi, Gordon and Onana all start for us. Not to mention legs in players like Coleman.

Put it this way, we go down that season under Lampard if you take Richarlison out the team.

The turnover in the squad recently has been bigger than some people appreciate

There’s the obvious players that would get in this team that you’ve listed: Richarlison Gordon Onana Iwobi plus Mina in my view

There’s a selection of fringe players that no one really liked at the time but you can make a case for all being in the squad and playing regularly now ahead of players we have: Allan, Gray, Gomes, Godfrey, Delph

I know someone will probably just highlight one name here with a laughing emoji and think that’s some sort of argument but the point is that even though most of us were happy to see some of these players depart, the ones that have replaced them(if they’ve been replaced) haven’t been better and in some cases aren’t even as good.

Do Lindstrom and Harrison offer more than Gray?

Is Mangala really offering more than Allan?

We all like Ndiaye but is he as good as prime focussed Gordon Iwobi or Richarlison?

Would I rather have Ben Godfrey at fullback over Ashley Young.

People can have whatever opinion they want on the squad quality respective to other teams but it’s simply not the same group of players as it was 24 months ago, the turnover is rapid and we look to be in for more of the same this summer.

Our summer spending with Benitez was just 1.7m on Gray,
Dyche has had a lot more spent on his squad along with a year more experienced Branthwaite and a fit DCL.

One was ran out the club (Rightly so) the other there was talk of statues from some fans.

Both had/have us playing horrendous football and in similar league positions.

As did I, but we're both not the people who will laugh at him for that :)

He's a marginally better manager and I fully expect a "smaller" team, or back to Burnley. The image of him at Spurs and the way Spurs are in general is fantastic though.

Probably easier if we just all sharpen pitchforks and call Dyche a witch that's spoiling our weekends mate.

Apparently Rangnick was replacing him with TFG prior to them walking away first time, and he knows it. He's on borrowed time - he was never getting past this season no matter what. That's not ideal in football - add 13 senior players with a contract finishing in a few months and it's a nightmare. Leicester went down IMO because of players knowing they were off.

With that in mind, if TFG have a replacement who is willing to come in now, then they need to make that change but it has to be backed with significant investment to improve our final third. I just hope we're out the bottom 3 by then.
