2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Currently 23. 8 win per percentage this season.

Lampard was binned with an overall win percentage of 27.3.

The total points after x games is currently worse than it was in 22/23. Can't see it getting much better either in the next month. We saw what happened then to Lampard and I fully expect Dyche to get potted but hopefully a few weeks earlier as Lampard got lucky with the World cup break as I'd have sacked him after Bournemouth 3-0.

Lampard having a much worse squad is a total fallacy but I can just go back 100 pages to read this argument again
Go and look 2 years ago. Holgate, Tom Davies getting games grander and Onana were 20yr old kids.he lost Mina. Godfrey first, doucoure 2nd game
aRondon and maupay were his strikers. DCL first start was game 11. Lampard had more points from the first 12 with a tougher start.
Fact

I genuinely hope there would be a drop off - or will be if this status quo persists in the future. People have got agency - but collectively only if we move en masse. Turning up every week to watch this unacceptable dross does not merit pity or respect. It's mashochistic self-harm. Paying for the privilege of being collectively insulted every week is madness.

Loyalty is a wonderful quality - but the most loyal friend is the one who risks upsetting the apple cart by whispering badly-needed home truths then a friend is behaving in a self-destructive way. And this club has been doing just that for 35 years.
Can’t argue with anything you’ve said.

Your last point on loyalty is sadly very true, the club have abused ours for far too many years.

The drop off is starting I think, if I’m seeing empty seats in what should be a winnable game against Brentford, unless something changes for the better very soon, it’s going to get worse.

According to Wikipedia;

Lampard: 44 Games. Won 12. Drawn 8. Lost 24. 27.3%
Dyche: 77 Games. Won 25. Drawn 23. Lost 29. 32.47%

I think our squad now is worse - we've had years of needing to sell. Richarlison, Iwobi, Gordon and Onana all start for us. Not to mention legs in players like Coleman.

Put it this way, we go down that season under Lampard if you take Richarlison out the team.
I said the 2nd season Gordon was 20 and inconsistent, Onana was 20 and had never kicked a ball in the prem as was garner. Tom Davies was playing as was holgate. We had Rondon first 5 games as his only fit striker and then we got maupay. With the injuries there’s not a chance our squad was better 2yrs ago. And tougher fixtures and more points 👍 and of course we only count the opening 12 games, because it suits my argument. Remember yesterday you mentioning it’s only been 12 games this bad run and I pointed out it’s nearly a year and 7 wins in 33. But you didn’t respond to that post. No shock there

The club are fortunate to retain the support that it does. They may scoff at that and some will probably do just that if it was said to them.

You only have to look at the likes at Aston Villa, the Holt End had a good number of empty seats when they were going through their bad times way back in 2016 , so I can only imagine what levels our club would go to in terms of gaslighting if that was to happen here.

I worry what you lot will do with yourselves if we potentially become a boring midtable club with no real issues other than mediocrity.

This is the thing I find really odd. In a little under 3 and a half years, we've had the Benitez turd grenade thrown at the fan-base, and an unquestionably worse performing team and manager with Frank, yet the manager who has improved things, no matter how marginally, is the one solely responsible for the fans being at their most disenchanted?

Maybe it's just that the nearly 3 years since Benitez got booted feels like about 10 years at times?
It is a weird quirk that it happens that way. I don't know if it's peculiar to Everton fans or it happens everywhere but we have the same thing with Moyes; we were terrible for a decade before him and have been terrible for a decade after whereas under him we were quite decent, and yet you'll get loads of people who say everything that's wrong with the club is his fault.

The turnover in the squad recently has been bigger than some people appreciate

There’s the obvious players that would get in this team that you’ve listed: Richarlison Gordon Onana Iwobi plus Mina in my view

There’s a selection of fringe players that no one really liked at the time but you can make a case for all being in the squad and playing regularly now ahead of players we have: Allan, Gray, Gomes, Godfrey, Delph

I know someone will probably just highlight one name here with a laughing emoji and think that’s some sort of argument but the point is that even though most of us were happy to see some of these players depart, the ones that have replaced them(if they’ve been replaced) haven’t been better and in some cases aren’t even as good.

Do Lindstrom and Harrison offer more than Gray?

Is Mangala really offering more than Allan?

We all like Ndiaye but is he as good as prime focussed Gordon Iwobi or Richarlison?

Would I rather have Ben Godfrey at fullback over Ashley Young.

People can have whatever opinion they want on the squad quality respective to other teams but it’s simply not the same group of players as it was 24 months ago, the turnover is rapid and we look to be in for more of the same this summer.

You hated these players and used to call some of them the “rotting core of Everton”

Pretty sure that particular line was normally directed at Keane Davies Siggurdson

Even if not though, the point is that whilst some of those players had talent but terrible attitudes and some weren’t very good, we’ve replaced them with players who on the whole have good attitudes but just not a lot of quality anywhere.

I hated previous Everton teams because I’d see players walking around, not running, not blocking crosses, not making runs, jumping out of tackles, then the second the manager was out the door or they needed a new contact they’d all start playing up and the cycle would repeat

This group I think most of the time actually try their best, I’ve not often seen McNeil Tarkowski Mykolenko Garner Mangala Docuoure etc. not put a shift in or stop working, the reality is they’re just not very good. It’s a lot harder to be angry at this group than it was watching Siggurdson Gomes Iwobi Bernard Davies just walking around dangling a leg now and then as another team ran through us.

As recently as August this year, Gana and Doucoure were also in this rotting core. They’re some of Dyche’s favourite buddies.

Gueye Keane and Doucoure have to go. They’ve been the rotting spine of this club for too long. In combination it’s a death sentence.

Coleman and Gomes were once members.

Likewise Digne, Delph and Iwobi.

Funny how it’s always all of the players even when all of the players change.
