2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

People were still making excuses for him in November/World Cup. I was personally done with him after Boxing Day, but if you want to pretend that people turning on him after the 4=1 defeat to Brighton on the 3 January meant he didn't get a lot of backing from certain posters who like to ridicule a better manager in Dyche, then I don't know what to say.

Dyche is right now at the point Lampard was at after the Brighton game. That was when 99% of the fanbase knew he was done, there was barely any divide at that point. It was past the point of no return, same with Dyche now. Why some people are still trying to fight his corner blows my mind personally, what on earth about his track record makes it worth it for you?

😂 yeah mate, you are a pretty big factor in the things.
Just checking are you a pretty big factor in chosing the next manager?

lol this is an argument about what’s best… poo sandwich or poo pie.
Both men aren’t going to be down as great Everton managers but both have in charge during the shocking period of ownership. I think quite rightly they can say the club deteriorated over a decade whoever was in charge.
I agree Dyche has so far done his job, but isn’t a great ambassador. But if the man hasn’t got a contract beyond the season he does have to protect his own interests.
The club ownership is a disgrace.
They won’t go down as great manager because they are not great manager but to be fair to Dyche I think he will looked upon as an important manager especially for that 1.5 seasons.

Performances were torrid but he did what he needed to do against expectation (first half a season when we were going down under Lampard) and then against the points deductions.

He has shown his limitations this season- is not now fit for purpose and as soon as we can bring in a decent replacement he needs to be on his bike.

Quite simple really. For me, Dyche has a bit more credit in the bank than Frank.

Oh, and I always back Everton managers, until I feel their time is done. I certainly wouldn't ridicule other posters for backing an Everton manager and I certainly wouldn't have the gall to ridicule them if I had form for backing an actual worse manager.

Out of interest, what makes you think that time isn’t now? What would that look like?

There's just been so many hills, with so many of the same posts.

This thread just feels like an old familiar friend, just insert faux dramatic outrage and who ever the managers name is at the time.

Its all going to be different this time...........

He is a self admitted wum. I wouldn’t worry about it.

It’s also a silly point because there’s a 20k waiting list for season tickets of current non ‘paying fans’. At some points they will become ‘paying fans’ so would be silly to ignore their views as well.
Also where do they think all the money comes from, it certainly isn't from gate receipts anymore. Those "armchair" fans pay a lot of money to watch six clubs with the odd little club game or the only time one of us minion clubs can see our team on TV is when we are playing one of the six.

Point being the premier league wouldn't be the product it is today without people at home who can't go to the game paying through the nose for it.

Anyone with a brain knows Dyche’s days here are numbered now as soon as Friedkin completes the takeover. Just not everybody needs to cry it in 24/7 like a shrieking banshee on here.

Mind you if you genuinely think your posts have a bearing on who manages Everton then no wonder you are the way you are.

Watching the presser now and a bit that's annoyed me is him being asked about getting striker specialists in and he's listed spending time with old footballs who don't remember striker coach's to justify not getting any - Ian Storey Moore being one, who's 79 years old.

Times have changed since then and football techniques and technology has improved. Don't base your coaching on what it was like for players in the 20th century.

His entire approach is something more suited towards the earlier periods of the PL, the game has moved on massively in the last 10 years or so. I doubt he would even get away with his methods at the average Championship team anymore.

If he'd had a bit more money to spend then results thus far would have been unacceptable for me. He's close to the edge though.

It's always hard to say what the tipping point will be for me. Going in to them Bournemouth games under Frank I was fairly relaxed. 3 games later I was done with him.

Defeat to Brentford would have been unacceptable and inexcusable; the poor start to the season meant even unlucky defeats would bring pressure.

Tomorrow I'm not really expecting anything, but I might turn if I think there's any signs he's lost the players as a whole, and not just our centre forward who is no doubt already somewhere else in his head.

I don't think he's lost the players yet. I don't reckon we turn the early season form around if that's the case. They were primed to have him sacked by game 5 or 6 if they wished. I don't reckon we pick up draws and clean sheets either if they have had it with them. Once the players are 'gone' it's always game over. It doesn't matter what you, I, or anybody else thinks at that point. What the players think is far more important, but that works both ways.

Whether the players are lost is not the only metric though, that's not what I'm saying. Quite frankly, he's got to win one of the next two.
