I mean why do we even employ a manager and coaching team to coach the players when everyone knows you just have to buy footballers and then send them out onto the pitch to run wild like free range chickens.

I genuinely think we would play better at the moment if that was the case.

@blueboy72 - how can you compare us against any of these well ran clubs?

Are you insinuating that any of the last three managers are responsible for our abysmal recruitment?
That wasn’t the original point, you told me these clubs have spent 100’s and 100’s of millions more than Everton. And like a number of posters have told you this is not the case. We all know we’ve spent poorly, but that wasn’t want we were talking about. But crack on and twist this post to something else

What did he say?
That we only had 4 points at this point last season, so we are doing better this season than last. Despite the fact that we were only on 4 points because of our points deduction so were, in fact, doing better last season than this. Although, we were actually pretty rubbish at the start of last season too. Because Sean Dyche is dreadful at the start of every season and then progresses to become simply below average by the end of the season. 3 more years, 3 more years, 3 more years.....

I have no idea what the reality of the situation with O'Brien is, but it has certainly been suggested that the whole reason he is here is exactly because we didn't actually have to pay for him and it was effectively a PSR swindle with Textor. Personally I think it's a theory that makes a lot of sense, but maybe you hadn't heard it.
Yeah I heard, its a theory and nothing else.

But I guess we'll know for sure when Eagle football group release their financial statements

People blaming Dyche for us not being Brighton is hilarious to me.

... Dyche come in and we've had to make money every season, from a squad that was sat in 19th going into February.

We've discussed Potter to death, who spent £100m to take them from 40 points, to 41, to 41 again. He was being booed by Brighton fans in his final season when he finished 3 points above our tally last season. He'd have been hung from the main stand before them 3 years were up if he was at Everton. Totally different.

Potter was a symptom of Brighton being a very well ran club. No coincidence Brighton have kicked on after he left, and Potter hasn't had a job in over 2 years.

Just like Dyche is a symptom of Everton.

People put way too much on a manager.

Everton's biggest problem and cause of our situation is entirely created by Moshiri and the rot was well set in, and we were long circling the drain before Dyche.
