2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

My biggest gripe with him is where he says the team struggles to score goals, but they have done for years, as though its not his fault and he cant be blamed for it now.

Its your job to progress the team into scoring goals, not saying that hes only doing what the other managers struggled to do.
News flash sean...they all got the sack because if it.

Well, what I say is the opposite - it being both. It's not all on Dyche (but Everton circling the drain and Dyche being manager, is Moshiri)

The point was made directly in relation to comparisons to Brighton - there's no comparison to be made for Dyche, and Brighton.

That comparison shouldn't be made in relation to Sean Dyche and in this thread. If we want to make it, the comparison should be to Potter. Who, as I said - took £100m and took Brighton from 40 points to 41 year one, and 41 year two.

Well, let's use the full quote;
I think most know that the problem is Moshiri.
He had two candidates for the job, Bielsa and Dyche. I actually cant think of two more diametrically opposed managers. Clearly nothing to do with Thelwell.
So Moshiri is the problem, but he's clearly in the process of selling up and getting out all while delivering a new stadium. No amount of fan discontent in the world will make the sale of Everton happen any faster. The fans want him to leave. He wants to leave. The process is happening.

Then there are the symptoms, of which Dyche is one. If you cant treat the problem but you can treat the symptom, you should probably do that and hope it contributes to alleviating the problem.

There isn't one Evertonian who thinks it's the managers job to have the club running like Brighton but there are plenty who think it's the managers job to play semi entertaining football, to not continuously make the same mistakes, to make the right subs and manage time better, to avoid making excuses, take responsibility every now and again, to unite the fan base and to win a few games here and there.

Dyche has done none of this. Bottom line, he's a terrible manager and should be replaced with an interim immediately and TFG can appoint their man when they take charge. I'm not sure why this is not happening.

Weirdly balanced post, is this allowed on grandoldteam?!

Exactly my sentiments, very well put.

Crap manager, in post entirely because the clubs in the gutter, did his job and had overstayed his welcome.

Probably slightly underachieving with the players he’s got (definitely in terms of playing style) but not even close to the reason why we’re in this mess.

A new manager doesn’t come in and instantly fix this on the pitch, we need fresh faces in January desperately.

Not debating that, please bingo him asap - seriously dislike the guy.

Think he did well when he first came in, was a necessary evil. He’s outstayed whatever welcome he had by far.

Not sure he was ever really welcome - just appreciation for keeping us up, and accepted perhaps as what it is.

One guy on here said he was contender for manager of the year last season in June, and after 1 league game wanted him sacked. I wish I was joking

So he never blames the fans for anything even though he pretty much has as a dig at them every press conference. His latest beauty is that Moshiri wont go the game because he is unwelcome by the fans even though he stopped going to the games about 3 years before them protests even happened.

Had enough of him and cant wait for him to be sacked. Beginning to actually despise him tbh and i would rather that didn't happen as i don't like despising anybody but this fella is a complete and utter snide who is also really crap at his job.

I mean if he was a likeable character and had bought more into the club he’d have got a lot of kudos for the job last year - insane circumstances when you look at it.

He’s just arrogant, intrinsically dislike-able and he plays some of the most turgid stuff I’ve ever seen at Goodison.

I can’t wait to see him gone, I just really really hope they don’t mess up the new appointment. Considering Moshiri was looking at Bielsa or Dyche I don’t think the strategy could get any worse anyway.

This is probably the most crucial appointment in the clubs (recent) history.

I think Jan 2023 was.

I think we'd have gone down if we kept Lampard, or if Bielsa said yes.

I'd wrote us off, here - 2 weeks before Dyche come in. After that thread, we lost to Southampton (H) and Aston Villa (A) and then Dyche come in.

Right now, we're on easy street comparative to the day he joined. We surely can spend in January too - when have we last had the ability to spend, without selling in January?

I worry about this season but for the first time since Ancelotti, I'm feeling a bit optimistic because of TFG.
