2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Win tonight and we're 5 points clear of the drop zone. We (the fans) need to turn up. Doesn't matter if you like Dyche or not, this is a massive game.

If it was a 6 pointer in April we'd be out in force ramping up the atmosphere. This shouldn't be any different. It's our last season at Goodison ffs.

And before anybody says anything, I'm not blaming the fans, but it would be nice if we played our part some time before it's do or die.
The fans “turn up” every game, all over the country, every single time and regardless of the awful, awful results and performances this fella has served up and at whatever ridiculous time the TV companies demand we play at. The way Dyche sets up to NOT have the ball in home games kills any bit of atmosphere, his home record is appalling because he has no idea how to try and win a game from the start and never has. The fans have been the only positive about the club for years.

If you want the crowd to be involved then give them something, set the team up to go at the opposition for a change, set the team up to allow players to join in attacks, set the team up to seek the ball and get it back, close down the opposition in packs and force them into mistakes, allow freedom to your better players and excite the crowd for ffs, replace players who are clearly exhausted/off form (you can witness these simple coaching methods in every single semi professional league in English football yet the current incumbent doesn’t have it in his locker for £5m a year!). He’s an awful coach and he is to blame for the widespread apathy at Goodison. You want a change in atmosphere? Then CHANGE something about the defeatist, negative approach you wheel out EVERY single HOME game.

It's going to fall on the fans again to get us out of this mess isn't it

I’d imagine if the players were not following the managers instructions to sit off the opposition and let them have the ball they would almost certainly be being dropped and rotated every game. This is what the manager wants, defensive shape at all costs after he shat the bed against Bournemouth.

His approach to football management:
Aim to draw every game
Do not concede space by over committing
Keep it tight, focus on set pieces
Over a 38 game season, statistically, some games will go on our favour

Honestly, I am sympathetic to him sometimes. This team is turd but he picks the team; he has a youth side there he could at least give minutes to try, but no- it’s 36271 year old Gana in the centre for ever.

Wish people would forget xG it’s just an excuse tool. It’s goals that count not manipulated stats which mean f all. Simple game , score more than the other team simple. Some players con us with the amount of pointless running they do to get there stats up. Back to Basics please, tackle, dribble, shoot , pass or head , score.

Doing the same thing over and over again with same results...., needs to attack more and get bodies further up the pitch to support the attacks and actually try and have more than one player in the opposition penalty box and no huge f****g gap between midfield and a lone striker. I get it somewhat being spooked by Bournemouth and Villa games but we played well in those games and it was a path to another style of play, even if he was spooked by those games he could have done much better in-game management in both to stop us losing both.
