2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Yes you can

I just look at some of our players and I know people say they can pass a lot better but for some of them I don’t see it.

Mangala improves us and Garner is a big miss because he can look after the ball. McNeil and Ndiaye are ok at it.

All of the defence except perhaps for Young are pretty terrible on the ball, Mykolenko Coleman Tarkowski and Keane are absolutely awful. Doucoure is awful, Calvert Lewin isn’t very good. Idrissa Gueye is inconsistent, one minute he handles like he’s at PSG, the next he’s under hitting suicide balls across the middle of the pitch.

So if we have some of the better players on the pitch we can definitely do more of it but even last night there’s times when they get themselves into a complete mess when someone miscontrols or underhits a pass, at 2-0 Doucoure took one under jo pressure in midfield and instead of turning absolutely leathered it backwards and played in the Wolves player and it ended up being panic stations to get it behind for a corner, that came from no danger whatsoever.

We’ve survived as a PL club because we’ve had a very good goalkeeper, good defenders in Branthwaite and Tarkowski and we’ve got some players who give their all off the ball.

I genuinely think that other PL teams, even the ones at the bottom, don’t carry players as technically poor on the ball as Coleman, Keane, Mykolenko Doucoure, Gueye, Calvert Lewin. I just don’t see other teams bobbling five yard passes and taking horrible fat touches under no pressure.

They’ve done it under all managers. Pickford bowls one out too quickly to Keane who leathers it at Tom Davies who took a fat touch and we were a goal down to Dyche’s Burnley under Carlo. There was a derby when it got played back to Coleman who took a fat touch and had it stolen off him and we conceded.

It’s blighted us for years, you only need one weak link in a team when playing possession football and we have far too many.
Well I agree - to an extent .
"All of our defenders are poor on the ball except Young" .... Branthwaite is excellent on the ball. Patterson is decent but doesn't get picked .

Not sure how DCL is expected to control a ball that's blasted 50 yards when he's totally isolated, but hey that's how Sean wants to play.

All that said yes there are technical limitations with many of our players and yes Doucoure is absolutely abysmal at controlling and passing a football which makes Dyche's decision that he's the first name on the team sheet when fit totally inexplicable.

I still think this lot are capable of playing better football , perhaps not much better and certainly not free flowing stuff but better than we've seen recently.

I don’t think he is first name as he’s been dropped this season at times.

The problem we have though with Garner and Iroegbunam injured is that any midfield combo of Gueye Mangala and McNeil at 10 is too slow and we get run through

Although he’s terrible on the ball our results improve when Doucoure plays because he’s one of the few players we have who can cover ground off the ball. This is where we are missing Onana and Garner to an extent more than some are realising.

Onana Garner Doucoure as a three allows you to press the opposition much much more than Mangala Gueye McNeil.

I think there's a genuine chance we could have ceased to exist if we'd got relegated. The stadium is costing an inordinate amount of money and the owner checked out long ago, if we'd gone down it could have been catastrophic. Hopefully the new owners mean if it happened now we'd be alright but relegation wouldn't just have been an annoyance, I think there's a real chance it could have been the end.
If you can’t risk the inbuilt hazards of the competition you enter perhaps you aren’t entitled to compete in it in the first place.
In the event either the club would have been reformed or it would have died.
30 years of hiding behind the sofa hoping no one notices us has devalued the legacy of the club anyway,
I hope a better , more honourable future awaits us when new ownership arrives .

Well we shouldn't have got ourselves into such a financial mess no, I'm not sure there's anyone who's going to disagree with you on that incredibly insightful point.

He did till the end of the season where he had him as sub

he played 30 times in the PL for us, starting 23 and being subbed on 7 times. Only once was he fit to be in the squad and didn’t make the pitch.

How is this ‘never played’

He even played 90 mins in each of the last two games for those who say Dyche didn’t want him at the end of the season. There was a spell of four games late in the season when Gueye and Garner were playing well and we were winning when he was benched and he came on as a sub, that was the extent of Dyche not wanting him/never playing him.

Dyche haters' heads continue to spin off everywhere while Evertonians celebrate a 4-0 win.

Imagine what it must be like hating losing and drawing...AND hating winning too. It must be horrible for them.
I think we just want what’s best for Everton FC and in no world or scenario is Sean Dyche the answer.

We won a game of football! We wouldn’t all hate him if he knew how to do this quite often.

What's best for Even right now is survival.

I'd take Dyche all day long over any replacement. He's proven he can do that here.
