2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

If you can’t risk the inbuilt hazards of the competition you enter perhaps you aren’t entitled to compete in it in the first place.
In the event either the club would have been reformed or it would have died.
30 years of hiding behind the sofa hoping no one notices us has devalued the legacy of the club anyway,
I hope a better , more honourable future awaits us when new ownership arrives .

Yeah exactly, not sure how relevant the clubs history is when anyone under the age of 40 will have to have it explained to them why Everton are a big club for ten minutes and still probably think errrm ok.

People take up positions and cant be seen to reassess...worried they'd look like they're losing face on a footy forum. 🤷‍♂️
I dont think anyone (but you) is concerned about losing face over their view on Dyche.
He did well last night.
Helped by an atrocious wolves defense. But he set the team up to expose that so fair play.
He also came out and said he thought we 'overplayed it at times'... Did we Sean?
I don't doubt he can avoid the drop. I think it's likely he can get 12th or 13th.
I just believe we can do that well while playing better football and building a better base with a different manager.
The difference in my thinking today as opposed to before the Wolves game is that maybe he's bought himself till TFG take over
But then change immediately.

I don’t think he is first name as he’s been dropped this season at times.

The problem we have though with Garner and Iroegbunam injured is that any midfield combo of Gueye Mangala and McNeil at 10 is too slow and we get run through

Although he’s terrible on the ball our results improve when Doucoure plays because he’s one of the few players we have who can cover ground off the ball. This is where we are missing Onana and Garner to an extent more than some are realising.

Onana Garner Doucoure as a three allows you to press the opposition much much more than Mangala Gueye McNeil.
Despite Doucoure's technical limitations I have the feeling we get better results as a team with him in that position.

For me was a much needed win and does take the pressure off but he must pick up points the next 4 games liverpool arsenal city chelsea. If he does not then is back in a position when forest is a must win then even if we get lucky and stay out of the bottom 3. We have not seen that performwnce enough this season trying to go on the attack. I dont think he can argue if TFG come in and sack him, also dont think it is wrong for fans to ask questions why he is still here

They were absolutely rubbish but we won and came away with three points which was absolutely vital so we say thank you and move on to the next match.

They weren't great, but there will be matches this season when we again are rubbish, it's the life of a bottom half team. 2 defeats in the last 10 and 14 points earned. We're looking alright, though not great.

Also, now we've got Old Trafford out of the way and we've got a 5 point cushion, all of a sudden the December 'horror run' doesn't look quite as daunting.

What's best for Even right now is survival.

I'd take Dyche all day long over any replacement. He's proven he can do that here.

Agree first sentence.

But think this nails it;

….i think he’s ultra pragmatic given the players his disposal. He thinks what’s the best I can do with this lot.

I thought Dyche was outstanding last season given the squad, the ownership situation and points deductions. My hope this season was ‘he’d move away from the one way he knows’ but he hasn’t. Saying that, he’s lost a regular in Onana and hasn’t been given much with summer signings, with the exception of Ndiaye who he’s always selecting.

His contract is almost up, he’ll know the club are interviewing possible replacements so I don’t think we’ll ever know if he’d have a different approach working with a better DOF. Contract limbo is not good for us, Dyche should be moved on.

We can't have a situation where manager and players know it's short term - it doesn't work. Small margins down there and that goes against us.
