2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Two managers given big money to spend, to take the club forward and challenge for the title. Face relagation… equals bad job.
One manager given nothing to improve the squad, a relegation threatened team with Keeps us afloat.
Different times, different remit.

Think Howard Kendall is spoken of quite highly btw
Who were given big money to challenge for the title. Mike walker was given Brett angel and sold Beagrie to buy Limpar and bought Parkinson for buttons.
Walter smith was given money when he first came in, then players got sold like big Dunc, and dacourt, matteratzi etc

I think he’s talking of Kendall in 97/98 season, who had hardly no money to spend that summer

That’s Dyche’s biggest problem though, isn’t it? He can’t set teams up to attack, he only knows how to defend and he prioritises that over everything. We could have Haaland playing up front and he’d struggle to score more than eight in a season with the lack of service that’s built into Dyche’s formations.
Wood is scoring more at Forest than he did under dyche at Burnley.

Anyway, 17 points from 17 games, 15 goals scored, only 3 wins, it's not really good enough, is it? Do you still think we'll get more points than last season? That was your stated goal at the start of the season.

Not everyone, just those who struggle to understand context like you, and the term is crybot, for all the whinging that accompanies your addled ramblings.
I've requoted the bit you ignored, accidentally I assume as you are a self-proclaimed excellent reader, as you seemed to forget to answer it in your fury.

I suppose when i look at our starting attacking unit and think to myself mate what players would i like to see us move on from to improve i come up with:

Dom
The Duke at 10.
Harrison

I'm open minded on McNeill but id like us to progress to a point where he is struggling to get a game. Lidstrom id be surprised if he's here or impacts long term. Illy of course is a lock.

These are the lids who are starting games for us in the main up top.

To be honest i dont think any of us would be to disappointed if any of them moved on.

In the same way wed all be gutted if we sold Jarrod or Pickford.

That's telling in my opinion.
Who starts up front is irellevant when they are isolated for the majority of games, game in game out.

That is a structure set up issue rather than individual player ability.

Wood is scoring more at Forest than he did under dyche at Burnley.

He's indeed and certainly benefits from having better individual quality to set up for him like Hudson Odoi, Gibbs White or Elanga, but getting over 10 goals in a Dyche team in 4 consecutive seasons shows that a player must have a bit of quality at least.

What's your opinion on DCL? It's hard to be striker in a Dyche team, no doubt. But I've seen enough that coaching cannot be the only issue there.

You don`t think that Dyche spending £50m since last season we should be improving? If not that`s fine but why do our fans lambast managers like Guardiola and Mourinho for buying success when this is the only argument for keeping Dyche is he will improve when he spends money?

In over 2 years he hasn`t coached any player to be better than what they were, totally the opposite, most players are now worse than when Dyche come in... I will include Branthwaite in that because under a better manager this guys ceiling is higher than it is now and to suggest otherwise would mean you don`t believe he is a generational talent.

Yeah, I did state the Premier League era which I thought everyone understood started in 1992, thanks for confirming.

Think the game coming up is a perfect example of this point.

People are genuinely insisting that Forest's squad is miles better than Everton's. No, it isn't. They have some players who would walk into our team and we have some that would start day in day out for them.

What Nuno has done, is build a system that gets the best out of the attacking players at his disposal as it plays to their strengths.

But on paper (and I know, it ain't played on paper) the squads are reasonably well matched.

I fancy our chances on Sunday, because we should do, it's still Forest at home, but we have been dumbed down so much and some fans (quite a few) for some reason buy into it because they have this idea that Dyche is some misunderstood genius.

He is a manager whose style of football will always mean the teams he manages are down at the bottom of the table. That's not to say he can't do well in certain situations, but he is incapable of progressing and his approach will only get you up to lower mid-table.

That would be fine, for where Everton are right now, but the issue is you don't get enough wins consistently to get you away from danger until late in the day.

Some would rather stick the 7th place dvd on
And a minority that want the 17th placed DVD released so they can enjoy their messiah Dyche in all his glory...

Crap manager, not PL standard and moreover I`d be very very worried if TFG saw this guy as the man to take us beyond January and allowing him to influence the transfer window, we don`t need more "Dyche Type" players.

It will be very telling if they do, as I`ve said before I wouldn`t be surprised if they left Dyche to keep Everton bobbing along in the PL while they focused on Roma, don`t forget they tell Roma fans Everton will not impact them, perhaps that is because Roma is the priority.
