2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Whoever replaces him has the same problem he, and the managers before him had.

A team that is relegation fodder without pace, or goals. This seasons objective was no different to the seasons prior - survival.

Before a ball was kicked, I said I'd take 17th and above going into January with new owners. We're crap.

Those new owners now need to back the manager, or sack him and back the replacement.

It's too easy to blame the manager. Too easy to blame individual players. Ultimately, Pickford, Branthwaite and possibly Ndiaye aside, none are good enough. You replace Dyche and this team still go to April/May not safe. You switch Mykolenko for Young, Calvert-Lewin for Broja, or Harrison for Lindstrom and we're still crap.

We've averaged 41 points the past 3 seasons - the margins are too small to allow a manager, who knows he's off, managing a team with half the squad who also know they're off in 5 months.

As good a reason to bin off Thelwell at the same time.

There have been clear and obvious limitations in the squad for a number of seasons now and he has failed to address them.

If you don’t attack you can’t score. If you don’t score you can’t win. I get that with him defensive stability comes first but there has to be more than that. Turning a couple draws into wins even if you lose a couple more is worth it in he end. He doesn’t know how to do it or simply won’t. His time needs to be up.
His defensive stability is a myth.
Conceding one goal to head tennis and another to hesitation is farcical .
At 0-2 they still looked more likely to score that us.

I don't think for one minute Dyche is telling the club to sign Sportings 4th choice academy lad.

Or Beto. Or OBrien. Or Danjuma who we were trying to sign long before Dyche.

I suspect the players who are £0 upfront, like Young, and Harrison are Dyche. Anyone we spend money on, DOF.
Chimiti was signed because Friedkin was buying the club, soon as he pulled out we had to massively change the transfers we were getting, we should still be playing better.
O Brien should be in the team

We signed Chermiti in August 2023 mate.

It was 777 in talks then.

The point is, we can't blame Sean Dyche for recruitment. The recruitment long before him, going back to Koeman is what has killed us.

We've made money every window under Dyche, the only team to do so in the league. It's going to sting at some point - it's why we've absolutely got to spend from 1st Jan.

We were the same before Dyche too.

Lack of pace/ability in the final third dictates a lack of goals which dictates relegation scrap.
Setting up to try and keep a clean sheet at all costs, letting the opponent have all of the ball in nearly every game and lumping aimless balls to an isolated striker also dictates a lack of goals.

What exactly can we blame Sean Dyche for?

As I say, 15 goals in 20 under Lampard.

And only the relegated teams scored less than us the season before.

Everton's inability to do anything in the final third/score goals isn't exclusive to Sean Dyche, and won't be resolved by only changing the manager.

That was the only reason I was later than some getting on the Dyche out brigade, we've been terrible going forward since Ancholottis August to Christmas run. I don't expect anyone to come in and have the team start smashing in goals for fun, but we have some creative players McNeill, Ndiaye being held back by current tactics. With tactics that suit the players we have we'd be scoring more goals than we are.

Nothing will change until a lot of the playing staff change. That'll take investment and patience.

Why isn’t he playing Young at LB and Scottish lad(can never remember his name) at RB, play Harrison on the left wing(not great but he better on the left) Ndia at the 10

The fact your asking why we aren't playing a 39 year old at LB as the start of your critique speaks volumes really.

The Scottish lad whose name you can't remember has also barely been fit.

Players get better every week in minds when they don't play.

That's the twist however - many wont be happy with a Moyes, but we wont be bringing in an Iraola to change our style of play in early to late Jan, that takes time, Bournemouth tanked a good 10-15 games before they clicked, we dont have that luxury.
Yea this concerns me too
I don't want Moyes, but given what the players are used to it would take time to implement a new style.
Would still rate Moyes higher than Dyche though. He at least looks up the table
