2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

He won 8 league games in the last 13 months

Only Burton Albion have won less games in the entire 92 team football pyramid of English football
This doesn't get talked about enough to be honest - it was constantly brought up for the last managers, but now it's ignored because of gut feel or something, I dunno.

"Statistics shmatistics", as they say, after all.

The point as far as Ilm concerned is to put Dyche's career in context: all his managerial life he's managed basket case clubs, so to demand he has win rates approaching 50% is off the charts barking mad.

He’s been managing for 10 years as he likes to point out every chance he gets .. he counts that as an achievement

Yet has never been approached by any team of note

Howe got a better job with less experience in the prem

Potter got a decent job with less experience

Solkear

Arteta

Slot

All with little or no prem experience and got decent jobs

He will and never will manage a decent team because he’s a dinosaur
Statistics schmatistics.

They’re facts Dave

Deal with it and admit he’s not doing as good a job as you say

Just admit that you’re going against the grain for sport

Sadly, it's been the only way some of our fans have been able to get excited about their club: by a feeling of satisfaction at having pitchforked out another manager and the intrigue that goes into the selection of another manager.

The withdrawal symptoms are kicking in badly after 2 years of one manager. They need to get their next hit.

Online adds another dimension to it mate that historically wasn't there. The more dramatic you can be, the more attention you receive, the more you feel a sense of affirmation. etc.

There's a whole study on behavior and bio chemicals reactions of dopamine and adrenaline etc, governing behavior amongst football fans to be done.

Then there is conformity, I'm fairly centrain most don't dislike Dyche as much as they say but do it to try and conform.

We saw it last season with "Ill hold my hands up and say i was wrong about him" Vs this season the same saying "Ginger Dinosaur" - either a view is a veiw or it isnt - then its just a reaction.

Its quite fascinating really.

He’s won 25 of his last 100 games across us and Burnley

We have the lowest possession stats in the league

We are statistically the worst counter attacking team in the league

He went on the longest winless run in our entire 147 year history

He averages less than a goal a game through his career

He has won 4 from 43 fixtures that he has had in August

He has not changed his approach since he started his management career
Was some on here calling him manager of the season last year  :lol::lol:

….absolutely, there’s a paranoia of unreasoned blame for everything associated with the club except the dog poo in City Rd. If you don’t join in the anti-Dyche clamour and try to apply some logic, then there’s outrage.

I can understand TFG wanting Dyche to see our his contract, makes absolute economic sense and the summer is a better time for appointing a new manager.

Bloody risky strategy though and one that could easily come back to haunt them.

I speak for only I, but I hope he does well tomorrow and gets all 3 points for our club.
So do I.

But there's no future with Dyche, so these Texans need to have the replacement lined up - whether that is for next week or next summer. But if they misjudge his capabilities, back him in January, and find themselves bottom three after the window closes, this situation will be on them - not Moshiri, not Dyche, not Thelwell, Them.

They own the club. Time to start owning the mess.

Could win and still get sacked, although I hold little hope, terrible record at Bournemouth

Fundamentally, they lack character.
