2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I know that and so does everyone else.

The issue is what's best in the short term.

Last 6 games hardly amount to a crisis do they:

Beat Wolves 4-0
Drew against Arsenal
Drew against Chelsea
Drew against City
Lost against Forest (top 4 team)
Lost against B'mouth.

It does when you’ve also

Lost to Southampton
Lost at home to Bournemouth from 2-0 up
Lost at Villa from 2-0 up
Drew with 10 man Brentford
Drew with Leicester
Drew with Fulham
Got bummed by Brighton
Got bummed by United
Got bummed by Spurs
Drew with West Ham
Sit 1 point outside the relegation zone

So yes, it amounts to a crisis.

Soon.

We need a couple of signings. They need to go straight in the team. We need to change the style of football we play. We need to drop players who are first names on the teamsheet every week despite their level of performance. Will dyche do this. I dont see any evidence he will. Going to turn nasty at Goodison when Peterborough have 70% posession while we have everyone behind the ball and look clueless going forward.

Interesting to see Al launching into things like his post match comment. Generally a fence sitter so it seems to be he feels like the writing is on the wall. Fingers crossed.

David, I wish to ask you a few questions and would appreciate your response.

You appear to be favouring keeping the manager even in light of performances getting worse (definitely attacking-wise) and average points per game decreasing.

Our rivals, especially Ipswich as you pointed out yesterday I believe, and also Wolves quite clearly, are improving while we are going backwards.

Obviously, if this continues literally for one more matchday, we'll be in the bottom three.

Questions:
  • If the league looks the same as it does now come the end of January (1 point clear of 18th), and Dyche is still here, do you think that's the correct decision?
  • Do you think it's wise for the owners to spend money on 'Dyche' signings if he's not going to be here after the summer?
  • What signs have you seen that give you hope that an upturn in form is just around the corner?
New manager bounce is a real thing and we're proven now to be on the decline, to the point where we're being laughed at by small clubs like. Bournemouth. We don't even test the goalkeeper, and we're deep in a relegation fight.

Thank you.
@davek thank you.

Interesting timing of that Sky Sports article. From Myers as well.

Ultimately it doesn't tell us an awful lot, but the fact that it's even been picked up & published is an indicator that, at the very least, the owners are very aware of the current malaise.
It surprises me that Myers and anyone else for that matter have an in as far as what's going through the minds of the current owners, given their reputation for keeping things on the down low. You can only assume that this, if true, would be something they've needed to involve Thelwell or others in for it to leak.

I reckon he gets Peterborough, Villa & Spurs. Two defeats in the league games and I reckon he's gone either way. Could even get the boot after Villa..

Or if Baines wins a game and they give him it until May. Very Dangerous
They need to have their number 1 target for the summer and know before the season ends that they are coming.

Then in the short term look who’s available or wants it because quite frankly Banes Coleman Moyes Carlsey cannot do any worse than this tit.

I don’t even think Unsworth or Ferguson would be worse
