Well it's nothing to do with GOT - he was consistently getting double digits under Silva/Carlo and looking on the up, it made no sense to go for a different type of player.I wasn't really reading GOT at that time. DCL had his spells that last 2-3 months every season.
Yet, it's hard to find in general, we've missed that consistent striker since Lukaku.
Are they? Looking at any of their threads you'd think they can't defend either. We don't set up any full back for any success, as I said - we have no idea what to do with the position/combination of full back and winger; case and point are both wingers being deployed as wingbacks half the time and having the primary idea to defend (i.e. we overload only going back... interestingly).
yes true ofcEveryone does both mate, it's a normal thing to do you'd think
We have players that can do it, it isn't rocket science. Dyche just doesn't let them do itOverload the wing Bmouth does it, Brentford does it, Forest does it, but they have way more attacking intent, as you say it, but probably also more players that can do that like Ndiaye does it here.
Comparing Wood to DCL at this time doesn't stand up. They are doing completely different jobs with completely different supportWell it's nothing to do with GOT - he was consistently getting double digits under Silva/Carlo and looking on the up, it made no sense to go for a different type of player.
He's stunk it out lately obviously but at the time we had no need to go for a Wood-type.
Patterson played well going forward (and still does for the most part, other than the highlighted no-target-crossing), but is allegedly very bad defensively, even though he's at worse the same as the rest.Well they can as we do have one of the best defensive records in the league (yes as a team). But it's more the profile of the fullbacks. Are they offensive or defensive?
Ours are defensive. Can they get up and down the pitch? A 39 year old Ashley Young can't. A 26 year old Myko can but what can he do further up the pitch? Very little.
Fullbacks now are really there to support and recycle. And yes, our wingers are defensive minded...but there's equally no pace to break away either. You also get combinations further up the pitch when you have the ball. We rarely keep the ball up top due to tactics as well as quality.
Always compare this to Dyche‘s Burnley Europe or last season.Well it's nothing to do with GOT - he was consistently getting double digits under Silva/Carlo and looking on the up, it made no sense to go for a different type of player.

That was very apparent, yesterday, when Myers and O'Connor winked and nodded at the fanbase from behind very vague, cryptic articles that said everything and nothing.Sky are such chancers nowadays. Havent got a clue.
Apologies if this has already been posted, but my word. Fewer than half the open-play goals of the next worst team...
