Doesn't matter, image and Everton first. A statement of his sacking should include thanks or a well wish. It's a classless statement, not befitting of Everton. Those responsible - a lot who were around for that statement against the fans prior to Southampton - should give their head a wobble. Anyway, won't keep banging on about it, most - even those who really disliked him, if honest will raise an eyebrow at that statement.

Was behind him from the start and thought that given time he could do a job. Last season was at times hard to watch, but the way we comfortably stayed up left me thinking we were moving in the right direction. This season started off absolute pants and got worse as it went on. No point keeping clean sheets and not troubling the opposition at all. Right thing to do and hope we are n`t left long waiting for a replacement.

Rumours were doing the rounds that after his split from his wife, he has been drunk most days and regularly cancels training on Mondays due to being hungover. Could have been sacked for that as well as the poor form.

Sounds like my old physics-chemistry teacher. I had him for maths too.

Every Monday morning at 9, he'd no show for double maths, but he'd be in for our physics-chemistry at 11. Fermentation.

The timing suggests they haven't been prepared properly for this, Matty. They should have sacked him no later than Tuesday. His position was untenable. Now, they've waited until the evening of a match.

There was no need to delay this if they were prepared.

Needed to go but hopefully the start of drastic change at the club. No mananger is going to turn this ship around until we start getting our recruitment right as well. Money we have wasted over the last decade is a disgrace.

Allegedly drunk most of the time and not taking training or even cancelling it due to inebriation.
