2022/23 Sean Dyche

If someone had said to me 3 years ago you'll be planning around Sean Dyche i'd have been mortified.
3 years on the club has fell so much in every aspect its probably now acceptable.
I dont actually see any other alternative as things stand.
I’d have shuddered at the thought of it too, but on reflection, he’s probably about as archetypical modern day Everton manager as you’d get.

Like it’s always been his destiny to manage this team of cloggers.

BECAUSE LAMPARD WAS AT 0.75 FFS. He's got 40% more out of the same squad, that's not a slight improvement it's an enormous improvement and I don't see how any manager gets much more as an instant impact, without either a transfer window or a pre-season to sort it.

Yes, Lampard is a terrible manager but to turn around a team in the utter disarray he left it and get that much improvement (with harder fixtures) is great work, it really is. There is not much more anyone could do.
Technically he has a worse squad because we sold Gordon without replacing him.

The only way Dyche will be sacked imho is if we go down or if MSP come in and use their data analysis to recruit someone they believe is suited to the role.

His remit was to preserve our Premier League status, we'll know on Sunday if he's fulfilled his remit. The fact we're waiting till the last day to know, means that if we do stay up he's fulfilled the absolute bare minimum by the skin of his teeth. He's made baffling decisions along the way, the worst for me is that he's a man who'll often speak about "knowing the stats" when it suits his viewpoint but then plays Neal Maupay who's stats must be diabolical.

I'd take anyone over him next season, he's not a very good manager imo.

1 goal in 1100 minutes, xG 4.9 in that time
0 assists in 1100 min xA 0.2 *an expected assist every 5,500 minutes (a full season playing every game is 3,420 min) So we can expect an assist from Maupay at that rate in about 4 years and maybe another goal next season if he continues scoring 1 in every 5 he should
The lad is literally a waste of a place on the team

The fact this club needs a total rebuild from top to bottom ( On the pitch and off the pitch ) It really wouldn't Surprise me if Dyche's name was on that Data Analysis list. We have to build A stable premiership team/squad before we can then hand the reigns to a manager capable of taking the next step in our future ( and so on ).

Does dyche fill me with hope, Not in a million years !! But we have to get off this conveyor belt of Managers never Improving from the previous one, that isn't just wrong choices. It's much more deep rooted then that....

We need to clean out and stabilize this club and then we can look at realistically moving forward....

If dyche keeps us up and manages to keep his job then I will be having serious nightmares about the Transfer Window.....

Just give him the means to keep us up again, whilst we spend the season cleaning out the 'Rot' and transforming us back in to an actual Football Club.

We then move in to BMD with a new, well sought out manager and the beginning's of a squad we can be proud of !!!!

💙 THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT - THE FUTURE'S BLUE 💙

It's a bloody low bar, and are we in the picture for a modern Moyes type to turn up with magic in his heels and a smart word to go with vastly improved football? The scar tissue of self inflicted injury of recent years is similar to that of the mid 90's when things were very bad. Healing the club with the phantom head locker lurking, the gravity of leaving Goodison, financial clouds circling, and a very knackered squad is a big task to take on.
Dyche has made some errors, but hasn't stubbornly stuck with them like frank did. Also tried the kid gloves with Cal-Lewin.
Godfrey, Keane, Maupay have cost us big time and while the fans recognise after 1 game that these players are detrimental to the team Dyche persisted far too long with them and we got the results we knew would happen with them. I think he was stubborn long enough.

Dyche will slot in behind Kendall and Royale if he keeps this rabble of misfits and over prized men children in the premier league. Sorry Moyes your great escape pales into insignificant second.

"A home win over Bournemouth this weekend will secure 17th place for a second consecutive season."

We finished 16th last season. Considering they can't even get basic facts correct before publishing a "story" then I would hazard a guess that their "sources" aren't up to much either.

It then goes on to say that we're apparently considering replacing Dyche with Luis Castro. A 60+ year old manager that hasn't managed a club worth mentioning since 2014. Really? So we're downgrading?

All that piece is trying to do is cause upset in the camp with the manager etc in the hopes that it helps send us down.
Its just the sheer randomness of the whole article. Like who even is that manager!

He took over when we were joined bottom of the prem, had just sold a forward and released another in Rondon, when we needed a striker?
Bought nobody in in the tranfer window.
Took charge from a manager that was the worst in are history or would have been in a few more games.
Had a squad that was looking like it was beat before it had even taken to the field.
What do people expect him to do?
He has given us a fighting chance, I would have bit your hand off for that in January.
He isn't perfect ,but calling for his head even if we go down is madness.
He hasn't even had a chance to get a team He can call his own,
And put a stamp on the squad.
The club needs stability up or down getting in some no mark manager is the last thing we need.

I think that some of you need a reality check, when Lampard was sacked and Sean Dyche brought in everyone thought that we were dead and buried especially as we sold Gordon, Danjuma did a runner and the transfer deadline came & went without signing a CF. We couldn't hit a barn door from 10 yards before January and it's been the same since, Dyche has done a great job to actually have us in a position of winning our last game to stay up. Whether we do or not remains to be seen, again we have no CF or even FB's for Sunday.

Some of you are talking about replacing him with god knows who like we have a choice of top managers waiting to jump at the chance to manage this bunch of misfits. Why?? So we can be in a bigger mess next season when they don't work out. Dyche has done a good job with one arm tied behind his back and should be given time to right this club and the playing squad to at least compete for mid table if we don't go down. I never thought that we'd be here again after last season but we are because the club is rotten to the core and if it stays the same we'll be rinsing and repeating next year.

Some of you need to realise that we are nowhere near the likes of Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and most of the mid table clubs because of all the mistakes that have been made for many years, we have fallen that far back and with our financial position and FFP we won't be able to turn it around any time soon. If we do go down then the financial consequences will be massive and we could easily end up in League 1 before we know it. If people think that it can't happen to us because we are a "big club" then think again because we aren't anymore and we have caused this ourselves by utter negligence from the top.
