Which is why targeting 40 points is a really low bar. And really not good enough.

We are Everton.
We are Everton. A club in turmoil that has narrowly escaped relegation twice, unable to sufficiently improve the squad in any way due to FFP.
What would say is realistic?

My favourite thing about him is that he's totally mastered the sound I used to try and make my bike make with a crushed carton when I was a kid. Ask him the time and it sounds like someones revving a mustang. His voice makes Clint Eastwood sound like Rylan. Not sure why I used the word totally there I'm not American and it isn't 1969. You weren't there man.

45 points. It’s only 3 more wins than this year. And as I’ve been told many times, Dyche is a much better manager than Lampard and Lampard had all the easier games so surely Dyche can manage that.

45 points would have had us 12th and comfortably safe well before the last few games.

He has to get the defence all in sync and that means Branthwaite to become the next emerging star. The defence needs to be running like a well oiled machine.

Also needs to drill the midfield and decide on McNeil in front of Garner/Onana. A midfield to start the counter with power and pace.

Obviously up top we have one :)

This is precisely the type of analysis I turn to GOT for.

I'd take that now...

Last season was HUGE for Dyche and Everton. At the season's start I said I wanted a mid-table position, cup run and some emerging players. None of those were really on track with Lampard (whom I liked and whose 1st season was 'successful', but he lacked both tactically and crucially in keeping a limted squad at its best))

What did Dyche actually achieve?

1. Kept us up

Despite Lampard's lull, AND losing Richy AND Gordon, AND successive injuries to RB, LB, DCL and Maupet misfiring, and not having many games to fix things, we did it. It's truly phenomenal we stayed up for where we'd slipped to.

2. Potential in young players

Brathwaite, Garner, Simms might have potential. This might feel like 3-5 new signings next year if Pattinson and DCL are fit too (not sold on Alli)

3. We work hard, again. Finally.

The culture has changed, the effort's back. Sadly for Sean, the cash is not, so we ought to expect and be behind another season of graft, ,nicking goals and celebrating clean sheets.

I'll take 45 points and 12-14 spot, whilst the ground edges ever nearer :)

Not expecting top 8 :), but I think other than Villa, and perhaps Fulham / Brentford I don't see many that much better than us in the bottom half: West Ham and Brighton have been successful, but Europe's a lot of extra games. Wolves are cash-strapped. Burnley might go mid-table if they can score. Palace with a new manager might be indifferent, again.

City
Arsenal
United
Chelsea
Liverpool
Newcastle
Villa
Spurs
Fulham
Brentford
West Ham
Wolves
Brighton
Everton

Palace
Burnley
Forest
Bournemouth
Sheffield Utd
Luton

Had a shocking squad last season had no players to change the game off the bench. Not expecting it to be an easy season but with him hopefully getting some players in can see us safe
