2022/23 Sean Dyche

I get his thinking as our midfield looks completely different without THAT trio but I’m almost in agreement that perhaps we should be a bit more conservative without those guys as we get pegged in the midfield over 90 minutes without them. Iwobi and Garner will not pick up the slack.

442 with Maupay in particular just won’t cut it. Hopefully he learned his lesson. I’m okay with the experimentation as long as he learns something from it and he should have.
Today he should play Simms/Keane/Mina up front. It’s hoofing anyway.

Iwobi, Gana, Garner in the middle. Gray on the left McNeil on the right.

As I said when we appointed him, Dyche is a good manager to stay up but not the answer long term.

Should try and get Potter in the summer.
You know until our last season us (Burnley) basically finished ahead of Potter every season.

I think Potter is a bit overrated, did nothing with Swansea and had one good year with Brighton

Bad result for you guys today but I think Dyche had his settled team - missing Coleman, Onana & Doucoure on a squad that’s already well depleted it was always going to be a big ask

I see where you are coming from with your last paragraph but we played a team who had lost their last 5 and at times we made them look like Real Madrid!

Has a lot to answer for the last two weeks.
I have been a big supporter of him up to now, but why did he play Godfrey, mykolenko , maupay?
Still don't know why he will not play Mina, his contract is up at the end of the season let him showcase himself at least he has some heart.

The players were far from blameless for today’s debacle. Dyche’s selection was far below what was required, but it doesn’t excuse how poor many were.

Apart from McNeil, I think they all had a woeful day.
I don’t disagree but the fact he’s come out and said it suggests there could be a rift between him and the players

I hope the players are upset about being called crap, because they clearly, clearly are.
I don’t think that’s the main point I take away from the Dyche comments

To survive which we probably won’t we need the manager and the players to respect each other. If Dyche felt he could get them to improve or listen he wouldnt have chucked them under the bus so publicly

Or, it could simply be him reminding the players that performing on the pitch is primarily their responsibility and today, quite clearly, they didn't perform.

He did not help with the selection and tactics, let's not forget that, although as I said that can't be used to excuse ambling around or their inability to control the ball.
