He approaches every game the same. Has done since Dortmund. High tempo, high press, direct passing and quick transitions.

Here was me thinking they were actual tactics. What exactly is a non-tactical approach anyway?

Oh, and lay off the insults, or you will be getting reported.
How we approach a game, as it was said 1000000000000 times.

Read better. Bye.

How we approach a game in a non-tactical manner? You mean like whether we get the bus or the train?
No, like how I said above, but you're clearly handicapped, for which I am truly sorry.

See here, friend, read - we set up to not have the ball, i.e. our players don't really work on keeping it between themselves well, so we only end up with 30% possession and have to play balls to the wall going forward at all times and defend with 10 men. Other teams (that's the opposition by the way) have found this out and will continue to just sit back and let us have the ball because we don't know what to do when we have it for longer periods. A great example would be how we had no idea how to structure an attack against Wolves last game out, you know? When we didn't have a shot for like 50 minutes or something stupid and relied on McNeil running past someone somehow, which is pretty improbable, or a moment of magic from Harrison.

Because you picked them up - SAF, Klopp, Mourinho, et al, can use the same tactic and even, unbelievably, the same players (!) and play a different style - some games they keep the ball more and use overloads or overlaps, others they sit back and counter. EVEN MORE UNBELIEVABLY SO, sometimes they do those adjustments MID GAME! Can you believe it? Before the 75th minute?

All of those things, Dyche doesn't do.

Easier now?

But imo he does and can change things, so that's something we will have to agree to disagree on. Arsenal at home, we sat back, other games we've adopted a high press.

I'm not arguing the validity of the tactics. Just that he's no more inflexible than lots of managers. You're the one who used the 2 formation argument to bash him with.

Regardless, your use of the word 'handicapped' is highly offensive, HIGHLY offensive. Hope your mother is proud of you. You've left me no choice but to report it as the despicable and unforgivable language that it is.

Good post, I think it’s more the players he’s working with that Dyche himself either way It does suit us and has been working. If like you say teams are happy for us to have the ball then that is on Dyche to change up because we are poor in possession luckily we don’t have too much of it 😂

That argument makes no sense.

Dyche has been working on a shoestring at Burnley and now Everton.

Nobody has a clue what he would do if he could unlimited amounts on players.

I would say that Dyche has no clue either as it isn't something that he would waste his time thinking about, he seems to be a very practical man.
I don't think he is the kind to make the knife to a gunfight argument.
In 10yrs did he change at Burnley, he sold and bought enough players to have the team he wanted. David Moyes hardly had any money and while his blueprint remained, his 20004/05 teams compared to his Everton team in the last few years was chalk and cheese.

2 of dyches most expensive signings were Chris wood and Weghorst. I’m sure he could have bought a different type of forward if he wanted to.

Would we be so poor in possession under a different coach.

Yes as the players are crap who’s going to teach Gana how to pass? Who’s going to coach Doucoure not to look like bambi on ice. Harrison wasteful. Dyche suits us now and this squad of players
Well it’s been proven that coaches can, potter did it at Brighton, Martinez with us. And I’m sure there’s loads of other examples. and gana went to psg for 30mil, so can’t be that crap

hard to pass sometimes when there’s no movement or our foward players are isolated, or don’t have confidence or believe which comes from the manager and the coaches, instead of get the behind the ball lads and go long

Of course another coach can change it passages of play, movement, shape. But you also need the players to do that our squad is crap. Even with a better squad of players and ancelotti we managed mid table. Only have to look at Newcastle and villa hardly amazing squads but good coaches. Right now the state of the club and squad Dyche is doing a good job as grim as the football might be.

It’s not a crap squad. Ok not a world beating squad, but we should be able to to have more of the ball against fellow strugglers than we do, but that’s not dyche’s style.

And the Ancelotti season we were only 8 points off 4th, so was a very close group of teams
