Oh okay
Deserved relegation it is then ,
And good riddance.
I just think we need a manager who is pragmatic and flexible e.g. can work with some of the neanderthals we have but can also grow and develop as we try to develop our style.

I’d be taking soundings from former managers, like Carlo, as to up and coming managers (like we did with Smith and Moyes) as I don’t trust anyone at the club to unearth managerial talent, so I do agree that I don’t see Dyche being here at the end of the season, therefore it’s a matter of timing.

I’d be looking for a manager with the personality traits and potential I have described above. Moyes was a little like this, managed us at the bottom and was able to develop style (to an extent) and had us mainly in the top seven.

Yeah
As is any chance of our survival under this serial failure of a manager.
But dream on .

We won't get relegated.

He navigated us from relegation last season and if the window is better by the end (Beto is a good start) we won't get relegated.

We're currently 8th on xG above West Ham, Newcastle, City etc but have nothing to show for it. We got pumped by Villa but lost by the narrowest of margins at home. That fortune turns, we'll be fine.

And as for Dyche being a "serial failure" I've stated the constraints about how that creeps up on any team.

We barely survived last season, until Doucoure scored a goal out of nothing in last game of the season we were relegated.
This was no brilliant inspired resurrection but a grim white knuckle ride to survival by the narrowest of margins.
And the football , apart from 45 minutes against a sloppy Brighton side , continued to be dire.
And I disagree entirely with your excuses for Dyche’s previous relegation record. In my opinion his relegations are inevitable given his extremely limited tactical style which relies on fine margins and low goal scoring , and his equally limited ability manage a game.
So we will have to agree to disagree, since we clearly occupy diametrically opposed positions.

This is the thing, our XG is too high not get results. The fact we haven't scored is out there in terms of improbability and cant continue. We've been so incredibly unlucky.

Given the above and the fact you have McNeill, Harrison, Beto, Coleman to come in - Chemiti and Danjuma to continue to bed in and DCL and Iwobi to come back in we're going to fine.

Absolutely convinced.

Even when you weigh up where its gone wrong - its nothing to do with the manager.

Goes back to reality and fantasy, what people want and what is actually real.

When you're not spending money and have had 2 years of relegation battles... thinking someone can come in and suddenly play a "modern" brand of football with the squad and it'll some how change our fortunes is fantasy land

You have to build a base in order to progress. Until this window closes, we'll have to see what base is being built.

Thelwell etc have let Dyche begin a season with a 38 year old left back, a loan, and academy players on the back of a team that survived relegation on the last day. And in 2 of these 3 games we should've won if the right recruitment was implemented.
Need a repetition of the Moyes template really from 20004 to 2009, and then see if someone can push us up beyond that - the difficulty with this, is that the league is far more competitive now

They may be to come but we need Dyche to go out. No two ways about it.

My wife's side are all blue and was kind of forced to follow them to a degree 🤣. Must admit that it was a struggle at first after you nicked Inchy , Brace and Beagrie off us. Took me a few years to get over them.
Been to a few games at Goodison and think you're a decent bunch, who have always made me welcome. My wife's cousin also used to play for you and unfortunately fell out of favour under Moyes. He's now at Plymouth doing a tremendous job.
Can't stand Liverpool either for lots of reasons. Anyway, hope Everton pick up soon because believe me, it's a big task getting out of the championship.
Chadwick? Edit: quoted this in the wrong bloody thread 😆
8 wins in 56 Premier League football matches. Survival specialist.
xS? Need an equation to square against xG.

You make your own luck though to some extent and the fact that our Xg is so high is basically telling him what he needs to do the following week in training with the players, yet you see that training video from the other day and it's nothing short of hilarious. I have seen more complex, more in depth training routines from kids in the local park on a Sunday morning, this is meant to be top level professional sport. The game has moved on and he hasn't moved with it. It will be another fight to the end regardless of who get's fit again. However I do agree that sacking him is probably not the best thing at the moment as we won't entertain a proper replacement that might actually be able to do the role, we would just look at the usual suspects list.
