2023/24 Sean Dyche

Personally think dyche is a sub standard manager and a absolute dinosaur.

I'll be amazed if hes still our manager in February.

I don't think either him or Thelwell will last out under the new owners, they will want their own people in place.

It's not great when you are trying to attract players either, despite what some on here say.

Think they'll want to get the lay of the land and feet under the table.

Dyche is in his final year isn't he? Still think it'll be about staying in the prem, stadium up and running....then start afresh with or without him.

Couple of things...

1: Why would we resign Dele if Dyche isnt far off walking the plank?

2: Why would we allow Thelwell & Dyche room to spearhead the rebuild? Unless theyre working on parameters given by the (not yet) new ownership? Which seems odd before takeover is completed.

3: Looking at Roma theyve got De Rossi as manager...former player with limited managerial experience. Now they are targeting young players with a newish DOF.

If that is their desired approach then it is vastly different to what we have with Dyche & Thelwell. Both in terms of playing style, recruitment strategy (on the whole) and managerial type.

I think Dyche lasts next season before a decision is made with the new stadium ready and waiting.

I am talking about Dyche coming here to a crapshow and putting safety first (successful) then eventually being able to use a budget to make us better

There’s little point trying to argue this point you’ll just get hit by the same few arguments:

Whatever position we achieve under Dyche just proves that the players were capable of that and they weren’t terrible so Dyche gets no credit

Whatever Dyche achieves can just be negated by pretending that people have held him up as their ‘idol’ given him ‘10/10’ or proclaimed him the best manager ever

Yeah but the football is just hoofing so anything he has done is completely negated

Winless run

Ashley Young

Doesn’t play young players apart from the good ones, the ‘obvious’ ones, the experienced ones, or any we bought for big money. Also playing them for any game time less than starting them every game doesn’t count.

It’s just a never ending repetition of any combination of this same nonsense all the time. Throw in some pining for the latest media approved manager who wins a couple of games in the prem also.

Random thought for the day...

Dyche mentioned he and Pochettino both play direct football.

Were resigning Dele.

...if Dyche ends up being replaced then perhaps Poch may be in the frame
That would be one hellawa statement from Friedkin.
Btw...why this speculation about Dyches possibile departure? Has so event indicated to that direction?

Dyche will never change his playing style. Burnley had one of the best teams in the Championship - he didn’t change his style.
It depends what we mean by changing style almost no managers will change the fundamentals of what they want from their teams so Dyche is always going to want teams that work hard and have a solid defensive set up that won't change I suppose the question is more whether he can move to a slightly less direct style and give a bit more creative freedom to players if he's got the squad to do it.

His Burnley team played extremely well against Ancelotti’s Everton at Goodison when they won.

Yeah, but is he any good like?

He’s improving the team and got them going in an upward trajectory. If we can progress again this season then he’ll have taken us from a relegation threatened team to a mid table side. A decent job surely.
Im really not a fan of the Ginger one, but, he is doing what he was brought in to do. Hopefully he continues to do so this season, at which point we should thank him and let him walk at the end of the contract. 2026_2026...new ground, new owners, new manager, happy days.
