Not from me, he has still not shown himself as a top manager.

How many teams in back to back relegation battles and riddled with ffp problems have top managers?

We have a manager who is here to do a job of steering us away from relegation and building a solid base for us. I don’t think anyone has seriously said at any point he is a top manager.

That’s pretty much what all the Wham fans are saying. You look at the players he has Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta - good footballers, technical players and he doesn’t know how to set them up to get the best out of them now they’re not in the underdog every week. Still relying on the old trusted direct ball to a big forward to hold the ball up and hoping the ballers make something happen from nothing…and Antonio is finished.
No disrespect to Moyes but his niche is getting the maximum out of a workmanlike side without being able to develop them beyond workmanlike. That's probably why he failed at Utd and Real Sociedad

How would you define comfortably ? We beat the Hammers yes but they had more possession, more attempts on goal. Need to do, have the team controlling games and winning by a bigger margin. Some thing he did not manage at Burnley.
Why do we deserve to have more possession that West Ham at their ground? If you have watched this team over the past few seasons you know that our personnel can't play possession based football. Even Carlo won games like this with us, and he's a 'top coach'

possession doesn't win matches, goals do. Winning by a margin of 1 is enough.

For us in the position were in that's enough

He came close to being considered for the sack for me (not that he would have been) but he has turned things around and provided renewed hope. Any run like that and your position is in question, no matter what the club. It should be, despite the very straitened circumstances we have to keep demanding improvement and progression within reason.

Just as long as the commission doesn't come along and drop one from a height on him, and all of us.

We’ve got a team that doesn’t wilt under the slightest pressure. The difference with Garner, Doucoure and Onana in midfield compared to the walking over 70’s football team of Allan, Gomes, Siggi - all so slow.

We’re not getting bullied out of games with this team Tarks, Branthwaite, Onana, Doucoure, DCL - they’re all huge physical and players. It’s a big difference to the last few seasons. Not going to dominate the ball every game but we can stay in games and as we saw yesterday, that’s giving us a chance at some wins.
Thought that when I saw the players lining up on the pitch to commemorate kenwright and Charlton. We are a big physical team, we might not be pretty to watch (and let’s face it we’re not) but we are competitive at least.

I don't like him and I don't like the way he goes about things but we have the players who should be enough for 11th-14th and if he can do that at the end of the season then fair enough I guess.

10-12th for me. That has to be the end position to keep our players motivated and then aim for 8th next season.

If we could achieve that then some of our better players may want to stay on.

By the end of the season if we can get into a reasonable mid table position then we will know what has happened with the investigation thing and with the ownership issues. The stumbling block for us with attracting managers (imo) is our poor track record with recruitment, I do think it's scares targets off. I am of the belief that if 777 take control they will bin Thelwell off (there have been suggestions they are not impressed with his 3 year recruitment strategy) Looking at their other clubs signings are very data driven and fitting a specific profile, I think we will have seen the last of the 'PL experience' stuff. We don't need vast pots of cash to recruit, just need to be a bit more savvy about how we do things in the market.

I think Thelwell has done well. Tarkowski, Onana, Garner, McNeil and then Chermiti seems to have something.

The only ones who have been ropey are Maupay, Beto and Gana imo...even Harrison looks ok and Danjuma is a threat.

Plus selling Iwobi and Gray was excellent.

What have 777 done so well in the transfer markets?

I pretty much agree with this.

I've always subscribed that our players (or at least a core 9-12 of them) are better than what a lot of people make out (worst squad in the league, a load of garbage etc etc).

Par for this group with the decent additions made over the last 18 months should be around 12th, with a feel good factor and good coaching it can be a top half squad of players.

I can't get past the negative tactics in some of those home games that we threw away! If we picked up just 4-6 points in any of those games we would be sitting around 8th right now

Hes finally got the correct line up.

Bar the mad signing of Neil Maupay, most of Thelwells purchases have been hits!

Another red flag for 777

Certainly seems strange.

Hopefully we can get the lad off Blackburn ,Wharton and have a pretty effective partnership with Garner onana him and DCL

He will cost too much imo and tbh there are better CM in the championship than Wharton. Id personally swerve the championship as I think the days of picking up a cheap deal from there are gone tbh, Alex Scott cost Bournemouth £25m+extras and that was from Bristol City who are a fairly smallish team.

Wharton fee was rumoured at £15mil. There may be better players in the championship but he has a couple of years on them. Hes the main one i want in Jan.

Dyche has certainly put to bed the argument that he doesn't use young players.
Yesterday we had Patterson, Branthwaite , Mykolenko , Onana, Garner and McNeill all playing.

I think you players may look at us and think they can get a chance if they come here.

Remember hes been trying to use Keane, Gana and Young when he can until they show too many times how bad they are.

For players simply looking at yesterdays lineup i agree.

Hopefully Thelwell can add to the group in Jan. It seems like hes the driver of youth while Dyche has wanted experience.
