Hah, seems a feeling was hurt. Which is surprising considering you came in so negative on someone just giving a positive post trying to knock down their good feelings a bit. I hope you have a more optimistic and merrier Christmas!

It is quite something isnt it. On the plus side, I got a clearer view of who the rational people are who can actually judge play on the pitch, and could see the long term future of the club. I probably wont credit the club with the decision to stick with Dyche as they probably had to due to finances, but it seems hes been the first good decision they've made in a while. Moshiri must not have been involved...
I dont the think results ever warranted anybody at the club making a decision on sacking him.

Bar the first few games we never really went on a deep losing run.

This thread was a lot more fun when it was people saying ‘I was wrong, fair play Dyche lad’ rather than people saying ‘I was right look at me!’

I can see why people got nervous, especially after the Luton game, but for me it’s really clicked after these things:
Dom being fit
Additional strikers being brought in
Branthwaite and Tarks looking stronger by the week
Myko being fully fit and continuing his impressive development
Garner and Onana forming a great partnership
Fringe players knowing how to step in and do the same job others did (see Doucoure dropping deeper for a game, Young on the wing for a game, Gana coming in for injured Onana)

the fact that all these things were wrong before shows what a good job Dyche has done since the start of this season to get all these pieces working for him! The only consistent points since he came in almost a year ago are Pickford is boss and Doucoure keeps slotting so great adaptability from the gaffer!

Looking through this... Whether someone was right or wrong over dyche.... The fact is, dyche is getting it right. Everton are right again. That's our aim.

Lot of talk of stats. Not at all a fan of stats, xg blah, blah. But I do have eyes. Man U game prime example. We deserved more.

At the beginning of the season (where most people seem to be beating dyche down with). We had maupay as our striker. Only maupay.

We lost games we should have won. The expected maupay (goals) factor loomed large. He went.

Fitness achieved. Dom back. Signings in. Perhaps certain players out helped too. Branthwaite in. Settled team. Team spirit. Goals/ performances came.

Conclusion. Xg means something when maupay is playing. And is the sole reason for our relatively poor start. Not dyche.

Apart from What's happening on the pitch. Look at the sheet he's dealing with on top. Not many managers could do that.

So, basically, I want to know: Which pub we're gonna change the name of in honour of this fine man and what will the name be?

The x.g. wells? Noise arms? Gravel pit?

Oh, this is fun. New thread anyone...

The thing is though, lots of the above things were kind of stumbled upon....
Dom getting fit is hardly SD's work
Branthwaite coming into the side seemed like a last resort when Keane was unavailable
Myko always a coin flip
Garner/Onana - we tried every other possible comboo before we got to this one
Fringe player adaptability - we have seen that go wrong as often as right over the season

Not dissing Dyche but his achievements listed are not seemingly part of a masterplan.

Dom getting fit was Dyche work - every other manager rushed him back and Dom wanted to be out there so he played when he wasn’t fully fit and got injured soon after again

I don’t necessarily agree with your other points but I can’t argue with them as we’ll never know what he really thought of Branthwaite and co before playing them but I suspect he knew Branthwaite was better than Keane before playing him but he didn’t want to put pressure on a young player and rush him straight into the lineup. A lot of the other tactical tweaks weren’t possible because of injuries to Myko, Coleman, McNeil and Harrison. I also think he would’ve started Onana and Garner together sooner if not for using Garner to plug holes nobody else could.

I might be wrong there but those are my feelings anyway

Stopped reading at first mention of Maupay as you are incredibly wrong already by that point.

He started 1 game for us.

I think Branthwaite came back injured after the U21's
