I dont know whether that was a matter of Silva being the first manager to get wise to our tactics of not wanting possession and forcing us into taking the ball or it was Dyche instructing us to keep the ball more. Hopefully the latter as that's easier to fix.

But the stats show that we get better results by having about 30%-35% of the ball in a game.

We cant circulate the ball comfortably as a team and we need opposition lines of defence further up the pitch and thinned out so we can offer a danger.

This possession needs a close eye kept on it. It could undo us if teams come at us more conservatively.

Not sure it’s all about the possession. More about who scores first, dyche can set up a team well to grind out results, but if we go 1-0 down, his plan is out the window and he doesn’t seem to have an answer

It's because we didn't get the first goal. They looked to defend their lead, just like we have defended leads in the last month. If it had stayed nil nil longer, or we had gone ahead, that figure would be a lot different I reckon

Before we conceded the possession stats were pretty even last night.

Teams are going to set us problems, especially at GP, if they cough the ball up to us.

As said above, the stats for the first half last night were even possession.

They did their homework on us.

Let's hope Dyche has another string to his bow.

Fulham were there for the taking IMO, they didn`t play well and Everton didn`t play well, I don`t understand why we ditched playing football like in the last 4 games to hoofing it more which worked once in 90+ minutes.

Clearly Fulham are a better side, they have beaten us 3 times at Goodison this year, to suggest anything else would be wrong... when was the last time we actually beat them anywhere? Maco Silva will be laughing his head off tonight, he has conquered us yet again!
Fulham were indeed there for the taking by Amadou Onana...

Dyche won't be upbraiding himself for tactics that were one professional penalty kick from vindication. That's just the reality.

Lessons learned for the FA cup hopefully: I don’t care where we are in the league, it’s a slap in the face to the fans every season we go out of the cup competitions regardless of the circumstances. I can understand if we’re drawn away from home at the Etihad etc. and get outclassed but basically any other set of circumstances is disappointing especially at home. The entire club has to take itself as a competitive entity much more seriously.

The good news is we will have about 25% and 7% of the ball in our next two games.

The bad news is our opponents have players who will take full advantage of such possession.

We're better without having to create, but also think we are better with it then early season there arent many higher midtable teams and below keeping us out for 90 mins if we have McNeill, Doucoure, Harrison, DCL and Beto available.

It worked early season for Fulham and Wolves - i think we've evolved a bit from since then, although its not our core strength and tbf its how id play against us.

I don’t think we know enough to say if he decides who takes them and in what order. It’s the players who offer themselves up.
It’s his job to either decide who takes them or to decide how they decide. As he’d say himself it’s ultimately on him.

When we have attacking set pieces they are taken by McNeil, Garner or Pickford, those are his trusted ball strikers. Onana is nowhere near them. It doesn’t make sense that only one of the three hit a penalty in the first five.

I have total faith in Dyche. Getting a draw from 0-1 down was even an improvement on the mindset we’ve seen in the last few years. But Dyche talks about details and getting the pen takers right is a detail.

Taking a free-kick/corner has nothing to do with taking penalties.
