2024/25 Sean Dyche

No they aren’t and really? Scum that’s massively uncalled for, Branthwaite isn’t scum, Tarkowski isn’t scum, Garner isn’t scum, Pickford definitely isn’t scum

If we swapped managers for someone progressive who doesn’t rely on aging or poor players (Tarks and Gueye aside) you would see a massive massive difference
Point taken. We have three or four players who aren't scum. I agree. Its just the rest of them.

I don't believe the majority of wage thieves we have for a team would improve at all no matter who the boss is. They're shameless.

Give him time please. His our best bet right now. Ridiculous how some want him gone after 2 matches
It's understandable
We are 0-7 in GD having played brighton and spurs, both not lauded for their defences

In contrast Ipswich are 1-6 having played City and Liverpool

Saints are 0-2 after New and Forest

Leicester are 2-3 having played spurs and Fulham

Dyche is defence first which is why we can't score so 0-7 is very concerning

He's also acting like it is nothing and fans are deluded to expect better

Fitness focused preseason led to injuries and no answer to teams with a tactical plan

I'd want him gone now before it gets worse except we have no structure in place to properly replace him so 🤷

I don't get the weird fanclub Dyche has yes overall he has kept us up in very difficult circumstances but is very limited I don't get why you would see him as anything other than a specialist in keeping clubs around 14th/15th/16th/17th. He isn't a miracle worker he can just cut his cloth.
Exactly
Watching the other traditional mid table teams get more progressive tactically astute managers in is also a concern.
We are the worst team to watch which probably makes us the worst team to play in too. Not one of our players has their tail up

It's horses for courses. The challenge for the manager of Everton Football Club in the last days of Moshiri is precisely what you listed above - to get: 14th/15th/16th/17th. But especially 17th. So, on those terms, we have a specialist in charge.

As soon as the job requirements change - and that happens only with new ownership - we will be looking for a new manager.

what he provides is a level of consistency over a long period of time. And by consistency I mean over and extended period of time, 2,3,4 years you will average X points and X goals scored

His entire philosophy is playing on those, as he likes to call it, “fine margins”. He sets up for a 0-0, and then hopes a set piece or defensive error will lead to a goal. He’ll never go out to win a game and over the course of a season his mindset is that it will all balance out. The games you should have drew you lost, will be reversed by the games you should have lost but managed a win.

In some season it swings in you favour, you get the Europe qualification, then the folllowing season you’re almost relegated. You don’t build on anything, you rinse and repeat

It’s why he kept banging on about XG last year, the principle is the same. Probability is that it will eventually change in your favour

The problem he has is that you can easily have a season where everything goes against you and you’re relegated, cut off. And why the time comes to react, it’s too late; you may have injuries, you may have suspensions.

He’ll never change his ways, his philosophy or how he approaches games. Regardless of being at Burnley he had the total freedom of that club to buy whoever he wanted, and what he wanted was workmen like footballers over flair, creativity and unpredictability because that would have thrown a spanner into the works of his law of averages

It’s not our job to know who the other managers are though, it is Thelwells. Most of us didn’t know who Glasner was until Palace signed him, same with the new fella at Brighton.

Thelwell should have a list of managers who better fit with the players he is bringing in. Hopefully a young, progressive manager with some positivity

There is only so long the fans at a club of our size, even given the rut we are in, will accept such poor football and negativity
Just ask Brighton who’s next on their list.

Confirmation bias to see all the limitations that he is accused of in every decision he makes - yes.

But I think a better expression is 'Familiarity breeds contempt' - 3rd season and he is basically doing the same again.

I think some were hoping for him to evolve the team somehow.

Due to injuries (I think we shoud be fair there) - we've actually gone backwwards and he doesn't seem to have an answer for it - there is a plan A -

NDiaye, Lindstrom, O'Brien don't fit into plan A yet
wt actual?
They don't fit?
what are they - shoes?
If they don't 'Fit' why did he buy them
If he didn't buy them - why did Thewell buy a type of player the Manager doesn't want and won't play unless forced.

Shiz Show on steroids

His comments are just another indicator of why he's out of his depth managing Everton.

It's no secret that I dont think he's very good and would like a change. But I know that's unlikely to happen at this stage.

Most of us just don't want to be in another relegation battle and want to see a gradual improvement on last year. For him to try and say we are demanding European football is rubbish and a bizarre attempt to make the supports seem totally unreasonable.

The way he has approached the new season has been abysmal. He needs to stop making excuses and using deflection tactics. We have 2 home games this week and he needs to win those matches and stop making unhelpful comments about the supporters.

Hes starting to sound like Allardyce imo. I dont know any manager that has picked a fight with the fan base and won
