It's not like he doesn't know how bad Keane etc are

thats it,
He brought in players to replace Keane, McNeill and Doucoure but didnt use them and the 3 were poor.
Keane had a good first half but christ, whats the point in buying O'Brien.
We spent 20m on a 4th choice center half and didnt sign a right back
(presumably because Youngy could do a job on the grass)

The Roma game was the chance for dyche to see the limitations of last season's team and put the new signings in. He bottled it and played a centre back who has barely played and then goes with the same attack that can't even create chances, let alone score.
