2024/25 Sean Dyche

Why are some of our fans saying i would take 17th now? Its because of the manager
Lets say we had Emery or Howe right now with the same squad and off field stuff would fans be saying 'il bite ye hand off for 17th' no they wouldnt.

By keeping this fella the mentality by the club and the fans is as we are seeing now 'Stay in the league'

The longer we take to fire him it lowers the quality of manager we can attract next, if its done now the new manager is basically got a full season.
If we sit on our hands until November December and then we are 7-8 points adrift of safety then it becomes more difficult to attract.

I dont care what mess were in managing Everton FC (or any established club) in The PL, hundreds of managers would jump at the chance from all leagues from around Europe to come here. They will get a bigger salary than they've ever had and they would become a household name overnight.

I just want 17th

Couldn't care less how. Couldn't care less about style of play or individual crap games or crap runs of results

And I can tell you it's nothing to do with the manager or anybody else at the club lowering expectations

It's the reality of the club off the field. To me it dictates that everything else pales into insignificance in comparison with staying up. It's the be all and end all for me

You can't convince me that as of right now, we are so certain of relegation that we need to enter back into the Everton Managerial Recruitment circus and hope we come out with a good one.

And I definitely don't want us to be doing that if the only goal is to make us better to watch and so people can feel they see progress. (Because again, IMO none of that matters a bit in comparison with staying up)

I think it's the depressing truth of our situation and accepting it has made all this much easier to stomach each week

It's not because of the manager. It's because of the dumpster fire that Moshiri has created.

Dyche wouldn't be here if not for the mess Moshiri created. Even still, if Dyche has more than a penny to spend we wouldn't be talking about 17th.

As for the bolded part, PL jobs (as long as this remains one) will always be coveted, but no manager with any sort of prospects elsewhere would take this job. It's a complete loser right now, we're at the bottom of the table with a squad that can't make a 10 yard pass and there is absolutely no money to spend. It's also been proven that we are financially and administratively inept to the point where points were deducted last season. Even if someone came in and turned the results around, it could be taken away mid-season.

Crying about no money and then not playing most of the guys that have been signed seems a bit odd.

As someone who defended him a lot over last season i cant tell you how pissed i am he's gone back to Michael Keane when money has been spent on a centre half. Looking around other clubs in the first two games i see players brought in playing. None of this not ready nonsense. If any club needed to get in players ready to start it was us.
Is it dyche. Is it thelwell. Who knows with this lot.

Ralf Rangnick had been reportedly lined up for a return to the Premier League as manager of Everton by prospective owners the Friedkin Group before their takeover of the Merseyside club collapsed.

That would have been to good to be true, as he decline a Bayern offer in summer which I could understand.

The whole scene is bad, on and off the pitch. Theres a real fear of imploding. Get rid of the toxic players ie Maupay , and get a new manager in.

2 big problems in this club are
No - leadership / direction / power vacuum
No - mid field.
Well 3 actually

Spot on.

Dychettes are happy to point out ‘he’ got us 48 points but apparently this year, survive and finish 17th is a job well done. Total diarrhoea. He’s failed miserably if we achieve 17th.

Blaming off field problems is a pathetic excuse as they were there last season too. In terms of the squad, the only player of note he lost was Onana and he barely featured in the 2nd half of the season, when the team performed better and we’ve brought in additions so that excuse is pure nonsense too

So true and his behaviour continues to make things worse by giving periods of exclusivity to potential buyers who are clearly not able to move the club forward.

It's all part of Dyche's self-woven myth that he's behind the scenes working some magic

The part he's forgetting is Keane is not ready, and hasn't been for a long time
Not playing O'Brien makes Dyche look like a right muppet

Think we need to look at the reality and accept our squad is comfortably the worst in the league among the 17 non promoted prem clubs, seriously we probably have the worst set of fullbacks and wingers right now and our midfield cannot dictate any game and every striker we have bar chermitti has a history of being poor finishers. Look at Forrest ffs, ignoring their manager who I don't rate particularly but their squad is by far more balanced and stronger than ours, and they were favourites with us to go down among the 17. I'm not defending Dyche at all I just think our squad really does suck

At what point will you expect more than that?
I don't know about you but I'm not immortal and I expect better
For me personally, that expectation changes as soon as we move. I've been fully accepting of 17th or better for what will be three years now, and have been satisfied with the end result as it was always just x more seasons until we move.

The club will have been through at least three separate exclusivity periods with potential new owners and it will be an utter travesty if we're not in new hands by then.

Also, this should be the current manager's final season with us unless he can navigate us to a mid-table finish, which obviously he won't be able to.

Lots of change hopefully for the better and a solid deadline has been put in place for the start of our new era.
