No real reason to appoint Dyche over Unsworth is there really?

Would basically upset the entire backroom staff and inform them 'you've got no real route to the top job here, we'd appoint Dyche before you'.

Would expect Unsy, Ferguson, Ebrell, Jeffers, quite a few of them to move on if gets appointed.

Troubling.

Unsworth, as much as I love the fella, hasn't yet proved himself at this level. Two matches, two defeats.

I think we could have attracted far bigger names at the start of summer but no top manager would touch this squad it’s absolutely poisonous. Slow, over weight, mentally weak, stupid, cowardly, injury prone, injury riven, completely unbalanced. We’ve got no premier league standard striker, and no fit premier league standard defender. It’s a death trap. Only British coaches from far smaller teams will be interested or absolute ego maniacs from abroad who fancy some sort of miraculous turn around in the hoping of getting a bigger European job. Any up and coming prodigy or established trophy winner would not touch the sick man of the premier league.

I hate to say it, but you're absolutely spot on. No one outside of Allardyce and Dyche would touch us with a bargepole right now. Apart from Moyes, who just got Sunderland relegated. And Howe, who is about to get Bournemouth relegated.

And it's not the players' fault that the squad is injury prone and unbalanced; it's the fault of the guy who bought them, Koeman.

Apples and oranges mate.

Southampton have a much larger wage budget than Burnley. And they spend much more on transfer fees, too.

For me there is no evidence as to whether this guy is going to get other than mid-table at best.

I just hate the idea of getting manager who had relegated his club to the Championship. This will be an underwhelming appointment similar to the Martinez situation. Sam Vokes and Chris Wood here we go.

But they're not looking at it long term. Burnley have had a good few months this season, but what about last season? The season they got relegated?

What's his plan? What's his style? Is it just to be solid?

Could've just stayed with Koeman
Surprised more hasn’t been made of this

Howe finished 9th with Bournemouth, a club who really should be in League 2. However, he's an idealist and would come in and have Williams and Jags trying to split and play triangles out from the back, so he's definitely not the right appointment in this situation.

He spent the Michael Keane money on Jack Cork & Chris Wood. Regardless of what you think of our summer signings, thats shabite mate. We'd all kick off if we spent £25m on two similar players.

Pellegrini should be the top target in my opinion. Good football, trophy winner, prem experience, just don’t let him make any transfers.

Most overrated manager in football history in my opinion. Won one trophy of worth in his career with Man City, the richest club in England, and even then that was down to Steven Gerrard falling over and handing it to him. Plus all of his key players that season were given to him by the previous manager, while he bought the likes of Navas and Demichelis. He'd take us down with this golden shower of a squad at his disposal.
